I started the 2nd game using the same Soldier character I had, and am now playing on Insanity.
I'm fighting mechs at the first colony, and my disruptor ammo keeps getting changed to inferno ammo ... No matter how many times I change it back, it keeps changing right back to inferno.
I have no idea if it's a squad mate doing it somehow, or just a glitch, but needless to say, using less effective ammo is causing me to constantly run out of ammo, and do little damage in the process.
Insanity was already supposed to be hard, but now that I can't use my powers effectively, it's pretty much impossible. At this point I'm done playing on insanity until a fix comes along and I can actually stand a fighting chance.

if the skill cant be undone when you start a new play through like on the ME1 then you might need to start over and manage their level ups personally.

Basically I bit my lip and just got through it to a point where I could get 2 squad mates who don't have a squad ammo skill ....
Now that I dumped them, the game doesn't switch my ammo ... I just can't use characters like Grunt, Jacob or Zaeed ...

The most advanced stage of the ammo power (4 points) gives you a choice between higher damage or having the mod affect the whole party, Shepard included. Hence, if one of your current party uses the mod it switches your weapon too.
Yeah gotta be careful about which one you pick, did the same thing with Jacob and he uses fire ammo all the time taking off my disruptor ammo. Just have to make sure to pick the higher damage option for the last upgrade of the ammo or use a different character.

Whenever Jacob changes his ammo mod to inferno and I'm using something else it switches.
This DOES happen and it's pissing me off.

Ok here the problem, when I'm fighting against synthetic or enemy with shield I use the ammo mod that their weak against, but then Jacob would switch back to the fire ammo mod and then I have to re activate my ammo mod again. Every allies that have ammo mod would do the same thing if I were to use my other ammo mod, it's like the want me to use their ammo mod instead of mine. Can this be patch to disable allies from choosing the ammo mod? Cause if I want to use their ammo mod I would choose it my self. So now I'm stuck plying with allies that don't have ammo mod.
As annoying as it is keep turning it on. Or turn Ally Power off if there' an option to.

Turning ally power setting to "off" makes no difference. In Mass Effect 2 it states "while ally powers are disabled they will only use ammo and defensive powers automatically" ~ or something very close to that.
They should add a third ally power setting that enables us to completely turn off squad power usage. Or better yet, rework how squad ammo is handled - because it pretty much bites right now...
However a third level of squad power settings seems like an easier fix.

Dang. Was an idea. That's preatty screwy if you ask me. I am defenetly for an ability to switch off ally ammo powers because it ruins everything that my Soldier or Infitrator does in terms of takeing out boss targets or Krogans on harder difficultiy settings.
