they might as well release RTO the day Awakening is suppose to come out and push that to next year, as that will give them plenty of time to fix all the problems that are going to delay Awakening anyway.

Cables don't really bite you, you know? And keeping them clean is easy enough. They invented vacuums for that :D

Never had any problems really. All my power strips are shielded, and I have a fire alarm on top and an extinguisher handy, just in case :D

I hardly think building a minimal UI (less on the screen then the standard WoW UI) makes it easier. It makes it harder for an average player, or just more useful to a seasoned player. As for Omen, yeah, that's making it easier for you right there. I never used Omen (played a Restoration shaman for like 95% of my raiding career, then Enhancement for the last bit... and Enhancement is hard pressed to pull aggro off of a tank in a raid, even with great gear for where I was). I used kgPanels, SimpleMinimap and the like. Asthetics mods, mainly. Anything I used merely changed the look of what I would have already had available, or hid what I didn't need.

I used Omen because my guild made me get it. Before I'd pull off the tanks and then I'd be tanking and the healer trying to heal me and I'd have to offheal me and with that level of holy spells flying around it's impossible to get threat OFF without dying and being the 3rd top DPS in my entire guild, me dead = bad. Eventually I got sick of it /quit

For someone that prides themself on professionalism, Abriael, that cabling mish-mash is a disgrace.

I hope you don't have to do frequent take-down and set-up of it?

It's not dust I'd worry about. It's just hard to look at. I'm hardly OCD, if anything extremely meticulous (sp? my english isn't perfect yet) Everything has a place, it's very neat and tidy. That would throw me into a cleaning frenzy. Messes ulgh!

Dear God, please let me organize your cables. That's a sin. ><

Despite the appearences, they  are actually pretty organized, there's no tangling to speak of. There just are a lot of them. Besides the PS3, the Xbox 360, the Xbox, the Wii, and the two PS2 that are visible there's also a Dreamcast a Gamecube, a PS1 and a SNES hidden behind the monitors, and everything is neatly plugged, so that I can simply press a button to move to the next console.  Add to that two PCs and a laptop that I pretty much need for work purpose (extreme multitasking is a must with my job) and massive cabling happens. There isn't much of a way around it. The only time I have to actually go behind to switch a cable is when I have to move the optical cable for the 5.1 headset between the PS3 and 360... but that's gonna be adressed soon :D

Early next week.

Anyway, Some like to boast about how superior their console is. Some prefer to enjoy the best of all worlds :wizard:

Might be sad for you, for me it's perfectly functional and very, very confortable. Gotta love the judgement passing though.

An hint for you though, I'm not :wizard:

If that's the case, and there's no tangling in all of that, then you should at the very least consider conduit.

And that would be an enormous waste of space

Would it be? As a matter of fact, my TV and my monitor take the same space of a big TV, and the TV itself doubles as a second monitor :D

It just depends on what really fit your needs, if you fancy a console game because of your life style, good... you fancy a PC because of the same, that is good...

I've got a Macbook pro with 2 HD Monitors (24") hooked on it, but that's my work/personal computer stuff.  A 47" HDTV on the lounge connected to a win computer as leisure centre and the xbox connected to the 24" HDTV in the bedroom which is connected to the win computer for playing media...

I can install DAO on every computer and else but I prefer to use the Xbox because I don't need to care about upgrading the hardware, or if the game crashes could mess my computer...

It's just a matter of taste and convenience... after years and years of playing, modding and using game oriented accessories, now I just want to load the game and play in a computer made for it (console).

Upgrading the hardware is something you don't need to do more than once every two years nowadays. Crashes? If you treat your computer well, you won't know what those are.

Never had a 360 fail on me.

Mine lasted 4 years before the GPU unexpectedly died on me just recently. It was either Call of Duty or Fable 2 that killed it.

Please please please, continue with the console wars. It makes for an entertaining read.

Matter of fact, I got my xbox 360 on second day after the release of the platform. It never failed on me. It is, though a little plagued with disc read errors on multi-disk games (but I heard that's a very widespread issue). Been planning on getting a new one for a while, mostly for the HDMI cable and the lower power consumption...

I also treat it very well, though. People keep consoles turned on all the time, which is the perfect way to lower their lifespan. My setup has the 360 laying on a metallic grid, which is perfect for cooling, so it survived to this day :D

Here here.

Been using Windows 7 since I could order it for $30 for that college student promotion, and I've had no crashes. Only ever had 1 problem (user profile corrupted nonsense that Vista has), but that's like a 2 minute fix. And even when I used Vista for like 2 years... I maybe blue screened 5-6 times, and most of that was from one bad driver, which ceased after it was replaced.

I've been holding off Windows 7 still. I will make the move when it's a lil more mature. I hate moving to new operating systems. The whole formatting/reinstalling part really kills me..

fable 2 killed mine for sure. i had not a single issue with my 360 until the day i started playing fable 2 then out of no where came the red ring almost immediatly followed up by a re-make scene from office space

Well in the uk you can get a cheap pc from pcworld, okay its 270 from the website it doesn't include a monitor so you'll need one of those it has a celeron processor egads and a geforce 7050 integrated graphics card which unfortunately takes from the systems memory itself thats gonna run like a bag of knackers

Now is we move on to what they class as their 'Gaming' pc's the cheapest one is 430 so that more than double the cost of an xbox elite.  but again an integrated graphics card and they fail to mention which chipset so it does not bode well for that machine, this one however does include a monitor joy is me.

And no ill pass on playing on your PC if it only cost a tad more than a console im sure the game looks better on my gaming rig

Well, I guess you mean to do all the usual maintenance thingy (HD reformat every 6 months, virus updates, maintenance routines, etc)... of course, if it's a windows box...  I agree, my Powerbook G4 lasted 7 years with no problems.

But as I said, it's a personal choice and you just use what you fancy...
