I am not pleased.

It is not the fact that the 360 users get rto first, or the PC users get it in a week. II is the absolute absence of information and support for the PS3 and its users that leaves me feeling that we(PS3 users) are getting the shaft, and getting it hard.

Between the lack of technical support for issues like connecting to the DAO servers, and this whole affair with RTO. I am left with a foul taste in my mouth from Bioware's treatment of the PS3 fanbase.

I will be purchasing RtO when it is out for the PS3.(I have already bought the points to do so) But in the future I am going to be extremely hesitant in buying Bioware products.

I own a PS3 and I adore the machine. However not having any info on the PS3 release isn't BioWare's fault, it's Sony's. I mean look at the sales comparison's. 360 has had their's out since the 5th and Sony hasn't even a clue. Sony is just BAD at reporting information when it matters

I have never had issues with Sony, and I simply have a hard time believing that

The company behind the Xbox is also the company behind the PC, at least for 99% of the people who use Windows.

nothing against console users, as I have numerous consoles myself, but those stay offline. This is ridiculous, first the pc release gets halted due to a muck up with the 360 (not bioware's fault) now xbox version is released and pc isn't. Consumer information has been sparse at best until recently.

bleh, just my rant, at least they are working on it.

I do sympathize with PS3 users, I do. I wouldn't be happy at no news and waiting even longer. But I am just a bit pissed. Really, next week for PC? WTH? I would really love to not have to keep holding off playing my character so I can add RtO to my story as I am sure many many people are here.

It's strange PC has to wait a full week for RTO considering the version that was..."leaked" works 100%

A full week?  I thought he said he expected it early next week?  I presume that means Monday or Tuesday right?

After Gates sucks all your money for 20 years, it's a good thing to do.... I heard the same comments about Gates ages ago when he was still on MS... now, he's a saint... perhaps in 10 years time, Jobs can do the same and be a saint, too...

I think you missed the fact that any recent Mac can run windows making useless to have a Mac version ported... so far the only professional one is Blizzard.

Gates doesn't get anymore money from pc users for either the 360 or Windows...he signed something with a set amount of money he gets. Gates has been giving away money to charity for years and years...Yeah well, what is so great about the Mac anyways? And Blizzard sucks anyways, who wants to play WoW on the Mac???

Dear, not you, indeed...

I think your definition of "years and years" means the almost 3 years he's been retired, btw, how a retired can get money since he is... retired?

I know his and his wife's charity has been out since 1999....at the least.

Microsoft founded on 1975, since the explosion of MS-DOS was around 1984, that is 15 years of sucking all your money to 1999, Apple comes back to profitability on 1998, almost 12 years now sucking the money... the point is, all these companies will get all the money they can and perhaps some will return it back to society, no one just give something they haven't got.  At the end of the day, if you like it, you buy and use it, if not, you won't.... mature thinking, dear...

Not really actually. Microsoft's share in PC gaming is very, very small. They don't have any say on the PC version of any game unless it's part of the Games for Windows thingie (which mind you, is pretty cool because it shares achievements with my xbox, but has SO many other flaws that it isn't even funny). Dragon Age, thankfully, has nothing to do with Games for Windows, and as such it's PC version has nothing to do with microsoft.

By the way, I can only laugh at the idea that windows is "sucking all your money". the expenses for the Operating System are a fraction of what one spends for the hardware. This, of course, not even mentioning that most PC users don't even purchase their OS full price, given that they get it OEM with their machines.

Microsoft doesn't make ANY PC hardware besides keyboards, mouses and webcams (and there are better players on the market for that anyway, so their market share is still minimal).

On the other hand, Apple sells tons of laughably overpriced hardware. That's what i'd call "money sucking".

that is all very well and good, but go thru 5 ps2's in a year and a half due to reader issues, drive issues and what not, and see if you still think that way.
this is why i wont buy another sony console no matter what it has or offers.

Well, you can believe what you like. The fact is PS3 DLC has to go through the same platform certification PC and 360 does. If Sony doesn't tell BioWare what the timeline is like, they don't know. And BioWare can't give us information they don't have and it is unprofessional to guess just to shut us up. Deal, seriously, it'll be okay. RTO will come when it comes, your PS3 isn't going to blow up between now and then.

But you bought the console with the highest failure rate of gaming history? Now, that's a concept i fail to grasp.

Not that I didn't, but i sure don't go around blaming other console makers. Microsoft intentionally sent on the market an untested and shoddily built machine in order to gain a commercial edge (and the fun part is that they're losing that edge anyway). That's definitely something I wouldn't put on a pedestal.

Seriously. Tough luck man, I still have my very first PS2 (the dinosaur version) and it works like a charm. I know it has problems if it's kept in a closed space, it gets hot like any other machine. But the PS3 is a much more sturdy machine with a steady 10% failure rate (better than 360, not as good as Wii) and most of those I've read are related simply to poor treatment and stupid people. (Opposed to my reduced-to-DVD-player 360 and it's red ring of death that we've thus far managed to dodge) All in all, I think Sony made a great system here (even if withdrawing downward compatibility was a big booboo) and you'd be more than safe owning one.

Of coruse it's not as good as the wii. The wii's made with technology from the steam age, being sturdy is it's only redeeming feature :wizard:

Ok well then my apologies if they said next week and not in a week. I am home sick with a really bad head cold so my reading skills aren't their best. Monday or Tuesday would be great, so I am hoping it is so. : D

didnt blame microsoft in the least, no where in my post do i mention miscrosoft, so assume something not there perhaps?
and at the time, when it was released, how the hell was it already the "highest failure rate" system out? it was just released!

you kinda dropped the ball on this one my friend.
the post i responded to was about how she failed to see how one could not buy sony products.
read a bit more perhaps?-_-

I mean, you bought an xbox 360, which is the console with the highest failure rate in history, but you won't buy sony products because one of their products has an high (not as high as the 360 mind you) failure rate in the past?

Shhh be nice to the little one! It's the baby of the three consoles and I have to be really honest, when it comes to party time it makes the PS3 and the 360 look like a joke. You need multiple consoles to make a party fun with those two, but with one or two Wii's you can entertain a houseful of people. It's simply genious and it's outsold both the PS3 and the 360 no contest. Chew on that for a second

And running Scratched Gamecube games perfectly fine with no mess ups. :P (Which is pretty much all I get out of my Wii)

based on personal experience, my x-box elite, which i purchased for 599.99 when released is still alive and kicking fine, no issue.

compare that to the ps2 i bought for almost the same amount when released, was an epic failure machine.

again, personal experience dictates my spending , not "reports".

Be good to a Wii? I'm plenty good to mine. As a matter of fact I didn't sell or scrap it, and I still keep it as a nice table-lamp (that little blue light when you have mail is sure cute), since I didn't turn it on in 6 months.

There simply are no decent games for it. This not to mention Nintendo's abysmal marketing, set straight on trying their hardest to show gamers as kids or braindamaged idiots. Every time i see a nintendo commercial I have to cringe in disgust. As a gamer that always loved ALL consoles, sometimes I feel like wishing that Nintendo would crash and burn. The gaming market would probably mature if that happened.

If you base your purchases on good or bad luck, then you're in for some disappointment in the future :D
My xbox is still alive and it's a first generation, but it's VERY evident that they used shoddy building techniques and components, the drive is noisy as hell, and it fails reading quite often (and that's a widespread issue). The fact that I keep my console with extra care, and it doesn't fail on me, doesn't mean I won't recognize when a company behaved in a very unethical way.
Selling a shoddy half-tested product to get it out on the market before the competitor is probably one of the most unethical business practices i can think about. I have my 360 as a necessary evil to play the exclusive games released on it, but for sure I have no admiration for the ones that made it.
