Every time I see a nintendo commercial I have to cringe in disgust. As a gamer that always loved ALL consoles, sometimes I feel like wishing that Nintendo would crash and burn.

Dude, I've been wishing that since the Genesis came out.

The company behind the Xbox is also the company behind the PC, at least for 99% of the people who use Windows.

Not really actually. Microsoft's share in PC gaming is very, very small. They don't have any say on the PC version of any game unless it's part of the Games for Windows thingie (which mind you, is pretty cool because it shares achievements with my xbox, but has SO many other flaws that it isn't even funny). Dragon Age, thankfully, has nothing to do with Games for Windows, and as such it's PC version has nothing to do with microsoft.

By the way, I can only laugh at the idea that windows is "sucking all your money". the expenses for the Operating System are a fraction of what one spends for the hardware. This, of course, not even mentioning that most PC users don't even purchase their OS full price, given that they get it OEM with their machines.

Microsoft doesn't make ANY PC hardware besides keyboards, mouses and webcams (and there are better players on the market for that anyway, so their market share is still minimal).

On the other hand, Apple sells tons of laughably overpriced hardware. That's what i'd call "money sucking".

My belly really hurts of too much laugher... if all those "facts" you are mentioning are so certain as the ones you mentioned before on studios and music companies.... it's risible, indeed...

BTW, the OEM licensing only applies to home user, in a corporate environment the licenses are paid in full or you can contract corporate license. The MS business model is as software vendor, not as hardware vendor... 2 different business practices.

Really mate, you should keep mastering the art of gaming...

It's possible you got into a bad batch. That happens you know, with a mass produced product like that I highly doubt they test evert single machine and there are gonna be flaws, don't think we don't know that (look at the 360 and it's whopping 54% hardware failure rate from launch) You really DO have to look at the actual failure percentage to determine if a system is good or not, and even if it's good, think about what I just said and your experience with the 360E package. FIFTY FOUR percent of the people who bought that system had it fail. Yours did not. Does that mean the 360 is a good system? No it does not. Luck smiled on you

Idk, Onechanbara, the Zelda games, dance party and Resident Evil were alright on it (though getting used to literally 'pointing and shooting' took some doing) it really isn't a console meant for hardcore gamers, it IS directed at kids and large groups of adults. That's just the direction it took and it turned out well for them

And of course the thypical macboy moves to personal attacks when he lacks arguments. Who would have imagined it?

You stated that Microsoft sucked all our money. I just let you know that Microsoft sucked less money from the average windows user since the time of it's foundation than  what Apple sucks with the purchase of ONE massively overpriced computer.

I know, it's hard to see your arguments crash and burn, but you shouldn't take it this personal. It's not good for your health :wizard:

compare that to the ps2 i bought for almost the same amount when released, was an epic failure machine.

The PS2 launch price was $299, and you can currently get a PS2 at Gamestop for $59.99, which is nowhere near to the 360-elite.

Also, I'll give you that my PS2 had issues aswell, but I was also able to fix them myself. It had a reader issue and if I recall it had an issue where the disk would be tilted slightly once the drive closed making a -lot- of noise. The 360's red-ring issue however can't be home-brew fixed, which makes it's error a complete and utter fail. I bought my PS2 used for around 200, and it's still kicking 9 years later, which is more than I can say for my 360. I got a red ring, and bought a PS3, so far I'm 110% happy with my decision. I can play the (worthwhile) 360 games on my PC, and have my PS3 exclusives too. I should have done that from the beginning.

granted, yet again, as i said, personal experience dictates my money, not reports.
im not a fanboy of any system, but when i purchase one just to replace it over and over, my decision kind of gets made for me.
i loved the ps2 when it hit, or i wouldnt have bothered to replace it time and again till i had just had enough.
out of all my gaming experience, since the odyssey master command console, the ps2 was the only one to fail so massively on me, so at that point, i was done with sony consoles.

so , as ive already stated, based on personal experience, one was better for you.
why is it so hard to get that it wasnt that way for me?
are you some sony rep?
i refuse to buy into anyother sony console, pure and simple, based on my own personal experience.
its called " to each their own".

Oh - My god, you PC guys are as pathetic as we console elitists are. Microsoft = money making business. Apple = money making business. Apple makes user friendly and stable machines. Steve Jobs is a ****. Microsoft makes user friendly and less stable but more powerful machines. Bill Gates gives money to poor kids but he's still a ****. It doesn't really matter which OS you choose, the person who runs the company prooobably didn't develop it. So pick the OS you like, run with it, and shut up. It doesn't matter how many times you call each other morons (in more words) you're both retarded for arguing about it

@ n0y0ki - You still bought a system with the highest hardware failure in gaming history. Even a dinosaur like the Atari outlasts the 360. Mine still works (to my utter shock I might add, I think the thing's older than I am) I just think you should give the PS3 more of a chance, since comparing PS2 to PS3 is like comparing a VW Beetle to a Bugatti Veyron 16/4

Yep, based one my one response to the conversation it must be true that I am indeed a sony rep on a conquest of converting forum-goers.

Maybe you are the only one allowed to give personal experience. If so then I stand corrected.

However, my post (by the quote snip) was about your accusation that you paid about the same ammount of money for your 360-elite as your PS2, which just isn't true. Maybe because you bought 5 consoles with issues that could have been fixed at home is why your experience was so bad (and expensive), and for that I (as a conquesting rep of sony) apologize for your issues. However, a major plus to PS2 issues is that they could be fixed at home, with relatively low technical knowledge. A simple Google search was able to give me the fixes I needed, which also spurred my interest in the technical subject and I got better, but that too is a personal experience that I am unallowed to post.

Good day to you though sir, I am going to play the 360's newest hit game ME2 .. on my PC, just after I finish the 360's voted best game of '09 AC2 .. on my PS3.

At the end, you like it, you buy it and you use it... if you don't... well, don't buy it. What makes you happy is right for you.

now that view ill respext.
but answer me this, is there any game on ps3 i should risk money on the system for, that i cant already play on the pc or xbox i already own.
mind you i mean a game of worth?
if so, i can always rent one down the street to review it myself and base a possible new opinion.

Honestly, I don't pay that much mind to PS3 exclusives compared to 360 exclusives compatible with the PC. I own a PS3 that's what I mind. What I can suggest to you is renting a PS3, and seeing if you like the interface more or less. I personally found the interface more fun to look at, easier to use and has more options. Also, there is the added prize of reliability. It is as you say preference, but I encourage you to try the system before passing judgement on it

EDIT! Well, if you liked Dragon Age, it just occured to me that Demon's Souls is PS3 exclusive. I haven't opened it yet but it looks great, and it might be worth a try if you're a big RPGer
