Get a PS3, it's far less boring. I spent an hour picking out theme packages when I first bought it, BEFORE I'd even opened a game
Seriously, no. There are several genres that will always be the realm of PC until some genius at Sony or Microsoft understands that all their silly trips about useless motion control and similar gimmicks are moot, and realize that they're missing the most intuitive and effective interface ever created. The mouse.
Until then there will be plenty games that won't offer the same experience unless on PC.
DA:O is a good example. The console version is extremely inferior. Less enemies on screen, a clunky control schme that can't compete with the total control given on PC, and no modding.
Buying the console version of extremely moddable RPGs simply equals to deprieving oneself of years of free content and gradual graphical updating.
That said, the only way to truly enjoy gaming as an hobby is to have all platforms. There too many exclusive games on one side or the other that agamer with a bit of self respect shouldn't miss.

Unfortunately PS3 is still way overpriced in my country and I'd probably end up buying some new piece of tech if had that kind of cash.

I agree. And disagree. I found DA:O very fluid on the PS3. I had zero control problems and if I needed to see what was behind me I turned the camera around, but with my playstyle enemies are very rarely behind me. Years of gameply? Indeed, by the end of this month I'll be drowning in Demon's Souls. Then when Awakenings comes out I'll pick at that until I get my platinum (by that time I'll be so familiar with the game I'll hate it) and move onto FFXIII. As for a 360, I have one, and it's in my sister's bedroom being used a DVD player. Halo made me want to kill myself
The difference is that you have to pay for demon's souls, awakenings and FFXIII. All the content provided by modding is free, and exclusive
Also, the control of PS3 might not appear clunky until you tried those on PC, between the mouse, the overhead view, and the skill bar, it's simply on a different level

Naw dear Abby not worth wasting my time over. Anyone who's in that much denial isn't much fun debating with.

I quite like the PS3 version as well. It works well with the console, different from the PC version but since the story is the driving factor behind this game the core remains. The mods would be nice, and I am hoping that Fernando's intimations that they are looking to PS3 ports for mods come to fruit.
Demon's Souls is a great great great game. I love it.

Sadly, after so long, I've lost interest, which surprises me, since I still love DA:O, but after this whole fiasco, my urge to purchase any DLC for it is gone. I don't think that I have the patience to sit and watch this type of thing happen again,
The only reason I even saw this thread is because my roommate showed it to me. Seems to me that PC versions will always be held back for the simultaneous xbox release, but the reverse does not hold true. I hope everyone does go ahead and buys the DLC enjoys it.
Edit:
I do hope this news catagory gets put to good use. The frustration and loss of interest that I've experienced may be forstalled in the future if there's actually regular communication.

I tried a few minutes of FFXI I think it was..Vandiel..anyways first thing that pops up in my face is some sort of Pokeman anime thing. Didn't like the controls, and where I was most folks were talking Japanese hehe. So I was a little lost.
Ended up cancelling. Not my style of game I guess.

Final Fantasy was not meant to be an MMORPG. I know a lot of people that had the same experience, get it, go wtf and cancel in the first month
Final Fantasy XI was developed for the PS2, and then ported to PC, so the control scheme isn't the best for PC gamers. Despite that, it's one of the few MMORPGs that retained it's success despite the launch of WoW, and had a very solid userbase since.

Agreed, though it really seems like Square is just esentially remaking the same game over and over at this point anyway with some interace tweaks. Spikey haired emo hero? check! Crazy bad guy? check! over the top huge creatures for special attacks? check. Give me a western developed RPG like DA:O or Baldurs Gate over that stuff anyday.

Lol !!
A Russian in Canada? Of all the places to go, why on earth would you move there.....
I am a Canadian who left Canada for Europe in 1998. Best thing I ever did in my life, only regret is that I didn't do it sooner!!
