well, I'm glad RTO is out already so I can start my 3rd walk on Xbox 360. I don't feel "betrayed" or else... only if Bioware addresses me a personal letter saying my platform will be the no. 1 priority, but that will happen when the hell's frozen...

I really don't mind if it is the "inferior, not as good as, not really RPG" version, I used to play lots of games in a PC ages ago and there were no forums or else where people can "express" their opinions, now that we've got it, this is look more like a scenario for whining and flaming instead of exchange information among users... I really doubt that most of the posters fulfill the 18 y.o. bracket... at least mentally...

I have a PC powerful enough to game on, yet I play video games on my console.

I bought said PC with the possibility of one day returning to World of Warcraft. With the amount of time I spend playing games on my console however, that's just not going to happen. Ever.

And though my PC is more powerful than my 360, NOTHING beats playing video games on a 47" HD TV, a $2000 5.1 home theater, and the comfort of my living room couch.

Note to everyone complaining about the 360 getting patched first:

The 360 patching system is by far more streamlined and efficient than the PC & PS3 equivalents. That's one of the things M$ got right. Anyone who has played bioshock on both platforms should know this - besides the insane install time on the PS3 patching took 30+mins on the PS3 and under 2 mins on the Xbox360.

That's why I love hooking my computer up to my TV and playing on my nice, 40" HD TV.

You can stay in the forum, but GET OUT of my HEAD!!
No but seriously I was just thinking sure my PC is nice but it pales in comparison when I can set a big HDTV on my dresser, hook my PS3 up and sit on my bed with my girlfriend (yes you read that right, girlfriend) and play with a controller, which does not need any setting surfaces to work. Like no brainer right

Yea but you're still confined to a desk, or at least a table, to be able to play. Unless you play from a laptop, which can be tiresome (not to mention hot on the thighs) a console can be played in the backseat of a car, or standing outside on the deck if that's what fancies you

Not necessarily.
1. Hook computer to HDTV.
2. Plug keyboard and mouse into computer.
3. Sit on couch with keyboard and mouse.
4. ????
5. PROFIT

Just leave the computer on the floor. As for a mouse surface, as long as you're not trying to operate the mouse on a shag carpet, you should have 0 problems. I play in bed all the time and move the mouse on my blanket/comforter.

The same can be said for a laptop as well, if it's too hot on the thighs.

Yea, but no matter what you do, your computer is confined to a wire. Always. Completely. Indefinitely. Unless you go wireless, which defeats every point Abby made, it lags and the precision is lost. Both consoles have BlueTooth ready controllers, which can be used at a huge range. I often read my email while running on my treadmill.. It's not the easiest thing to do in the world but it can be done. Or I'll configure a character while cooking dinner. Or load a saved game while talking to my sister upstairs completely out of sight of the screen. Why? Because it saves me time and I can do something else while playing and/or performing another function instead of flattening my cute butt sitting on the couch for hours on end

Yeah, but think about it. Your console is confined to a wire as well. It's the same difference, really. You just lack a keyboard (and, in my opinion, a lot of keybindings/hotkeys that are stupid easy to access) and mouse, and instead utilize a controller.

Frankly, I've used wired and wireless mice a lot, and there isn't that big of a difference if you're willing to invest in a decent gaming one. The Razer Mamba is one of the best mice I've ever used, and it's got the capability to be used wired or wireless. And there really is no lag either way. Gaming is what that mouse is made for, wired or wireless. < 1 ms response time on it? I'll take it, thanks.

Never really used a wireless/Bluetooth keyboard, but people I know who have said they didn't notice any lag either.

But really, you're comparing apples to apples, honestly. Yes, it's a slightly bigger (maybe 5 minutes worth of time) effort to move and re-plug in the computer, whereas the 360 is going to be stationary, but once that's done, they're really the same thing. Except with the PC you get more out of it (or at least I think so).

That's a matter of opinion I suppose in which case no side is entirely correct, or entirely wrong. I think the games as the packaged product function fine on any console. I as a PS3 user had little frustration with DA:O and it's interface. It was easy to understand, and very smooth I thought. Sure, I could only hotkey 6 spells and/or supports are a time, but that's what pause and play is for. I stopped playing PC games largely because PC gamers butcher the games with mods. "Well if we tweak this it'll be easier for us. If we add that it'll make the fights easier" everyone is determined to make the game easier. Imagine taking Demon's Souls and then running a stat recalculator on it to make you hit for 1000 times more damage. The game would be pointless because it revolves entirely around challenging the player's ability to process situations. It's no different with any PC game you recode or mess with. I say leave well enough alone and play the game as it was intended

Nice boasting :D

Aside from the fact that you can hook your computer to both the 47'' HD TV and to the $2000 (lol) 5.1 home theater, ans still play sitting on your livingr room.

Good job in wasting all that money on the TV. You get a better visual area on a 22'' full HD monitor that costs 200 dollars and isn kept at usual monitor distance. I sure don't envy all the squinting you must be doing to read your dialogue options. Not to mention that gaming monitors have better refresh rates, contrast and overall image quality than most TV's out there.  Never seen a crisp screen as that of my new LG.

Yes Abriael, we know. But some of us like to be able to play a game for a few minutes and while doing something besides wasting our lives modding perfectly good games, switch to TV or a movie. The amount I actually use my PC I might be better off to sell it and borrow my sister's Macbook when I need to type something out (it might actually be less of a headache, Windows ftl)

You know, you don't really need to switch. you can just have a TV on the side. :wizard:

Would it be? As a matter of fact, my TV and my monitor take the same space of a big TV, and the TV itself doubles as a second monitor :D

Ahh, but see, that again is an argument you can't really use. Why is it that playing a PC game automatically sucks up more time then a console game? I pause Dragon Age all the time to go make food, do something in another room, wash some dishes, or whatever else you could think of. Also, if what I'm doing is going to be more than a few minutes, I can just save and turn it off - the same thing you would do on a console.

The only time you wouldn't be able to do that freely is like... serious business raiding in WoW, and not ever PC gamer does that. Certain console games don't let you get up freely either. My brother has been late to dinner many a night while playing Halo 3 or Modern Warfare because he was in the middle of a match and couldn't stop at that time.

And again, for PC's, not everyone mods. I use 2 mods for Dragon Age: the vibrant colors mod and the extra hairstyles mod (because there really are only like 2 default ones I like ><). When I played WoW, all I used were ones that let me customize/build my own UI: not make the game easier. Just because you don't have the capability to do it due to your platform of choice does no mean that everyone who can, does.

Sidenote: Lol at your "Windows ftl" thing. That's a debate I can't even be bothered to get into.
