Seriously, why has gaming become so complicated?

Can't even enjoy games now, promo codes, this codes, those codes, register this, that, just sell the game complete in the store and be done with it.

I more or less agree. Frankly, I think EA and Bioware have complicated the matter here.

I don't really mind DLC, but there should be one activation portal and download frontend. They should be in the same place. They should be IN THE GAME. Same goes for patches. In NWN, you could download patches straight from the game menu. Granted, those patches rarely worked and you'd have to go find a working build somewhere else, but still...

In DA: Origins, you can download your DLC right in game. Why you have to go to an external website for ME2 is beyond me.

I work in the web, and will tell you why;

Social/media networks.

You have no idea the value of having everyone who is remotely related to your product in this little system they have.

Networks with large user numbers are actually much more valuable and worth so much more than people can imagine. There are so many things, so many.

But yeah, you and I forced to be here, is a massive gain. If they let you just DL it ingame, would you be here otherwise? would I? It is incredible the worth of a database full of users and their data. It is MUCH more valuable than any individual product they offer.

My guess is the server is overloaded or down.

I cannot run a traceroute/ping etc right now, but that is an educated guess.

Either for maintenance, or what-have-you, there is no response from the server that manages these.

The Cerberus code will likely work, as it is probably on it's own servers, because the load for that would be much higher and require it be seperate.

Our only option is to wait for their web/IT team to fix their server issue(s).

It's a known issue folks.. Just so that you know where I'm coming from - as IT Analyst researching support documents is a staple in my abilities to provide a resolve. In saying that, around the redemption code button is Get Help with Redmption code, guess what. It brought me to (oh no I gotta work to figure this out) their Support Page. Now what? Search for my ass gets an error everytime I put on your stupid code? NOT. Search for - Mass Effect 2 Collectors Edition promotion code - in the list was Collectors Edtion promotional code error -low and behold an explanation and formal apology from EA saying that a limited number of CE code were Cerberus Access and not the Content and they made that misprint mistake and are working on fixing it.. My guess is you'll get a Cerberus DLC then an email in game and get your stuff. Hey, nothing is perfect.. Nothing ever goes smooth for every major launch but should be overlooked in comparison the the EPIC Awesomeness that is ME2! May your issues and mine be fixed sooner rather than later and Game On! SEMPER GUMBY!

eyona: Thank you for that, but that error is NOT the issue any of us were having in this thread. I read that on the EA Support forums, and that is a whole different issue.

Anyway, I was just able to register everything just as Tetsujiin did. Try it again everyone!
