My thoughts and Impressions of the characters of Mass Effect 2, after 1 play through.
Mordin - Probably my personal favorite, he accompanied me everywhere. Why? He always had something witty, and amusing to say. His voice acting was well done and his lines were great, both aboard the normandy and while exploring worlds. He would actually make comments that i would expect from a scientist. In addition to that, His incernate, when fully level, outright owns, though i used his other abilities to a minor degree
Miranda - The exact same class as my Shepherd this time through, so she didn't see combat much, execept when i was expecting a massive need of warp+overload. Useful abilites for taking out enemies, but I was unimpressed with her personality. I didn't pursue romance with her, so i'm not sure what background i missed out on, but her personality seemed bland, and her background mission bored me.
Grunt - His background story was fun and interesting, and i like the idea of a tube grown "perfect krogan". But as a player who had wrex with me the entire game in ME1 i couldn't find a place for another krogan in my heart. wrex was all around a better character to have in the party as well, providing more versatility. Just wish wrex would have had the AI programining of ME2! those charges grunt does are sick.
Thane - Great character and back ground story (though i'm not sure what i missed since i somehow failed to follow those guys in the street and didn't earn his loyalty) But his redundant abilites (for my build) met he was sitting sideline most of the game. Would have liked to see him as more of a renegade as well.
Jacob - Another dull character courtesy of Cerberus. His teeth freaked me out and i never needed his abilites. his back ground could have been more fleshed out imo, and i always disagreed with his suggestions in the conference room.
Jack - I really interesting character with a good background and fun abilites. I played with her quite a bit, and almost romanced her until i decided i just had to get tali outta her suit. Lack of abilities to take out armor or shields/barrier makes her problematic at some stages, but she can quickly blow through rank and file characters.
Garrus - Wasn't much of a fan of garrus in ME1, He did see play, specifically when i was in geth quests and vs mechs, and i found what he'd been doing the past 2 years interesting, his background story could have been way better. it just didn't capture my imagination
Tali - Had to take her on every quest with mechs and geth because her ai hacking is just so dang fun. Otherwise, the fact that she normally used a shotgun turned me off because my group wasn't a close range fighting force, we used distance. Romanced her, good to have a friend from ME1, just hope ashely won't be pissed at me in ME3.
Samara - like jack only good, and suffered the same problem, even though she was interesting, i just needed characters that could help take out armor and shields with their powers.
Zaeed - Booooooring. Loyal right away, and to top it off you couldn't even interact with him. Besides, who wants a powerless soldier in the group.
anyways my group always had, mordin and i, and then one random add depending on what troups i thought i'd be fighting. will see how it goes in next playthrough
