So I'm on Illium and I run in on Conrad Verner in a bar, wearing an N7 armor and sporting a pissy attitude. Most troubling, he tells me I set him straight by pulling my gun on him in ME1. Having done my final playthrough of ME1 right before playing ME2, I am certain I did not choose that option with him, finishing the quest with the Paragon option instead.

Any one else encountered a similar problem? Any explanations?

I don't know if it's a bug or not yet, but he does that for me as well, and I certainly did not do that to him in ME1.

Yeah I did the paragon thing in ME1 but he goes rogue for me too.

I figured he was just an idiot.

Made a thread about this same exact thing.

I guess since it's so widespread that it's something that Bioware did on purpose.

No idea why.

Not exactly, dialogue options have bugged in past Bioware games, I rember a Morrigan bug from Dragon Age where she would not teach you shapeshifting for instance. Any renegades get a paragon Conrad? I was wondering if he maybe becomes the opposite of what your shepard is.

Might just be a reverse bug, where a Renegade decision turned Paragon and vice versa. If someone can confirm a Paragon behaviour from a Renegade decision we'd know the deal, or if BioWare themselves shed some light on it.

He might have mistaken the picture of you drawing a gun for him as drawing a gun at him in his deluded mind.

LOL

If this is a bug, I'd love a fix for it.

Actually the paragon option for the last meeting with Conrad involves talking him down from his delusions of grandeur, not pulling a pistol on him.

Yeah, I think it might be a bug. In ME1, I was an uber paragon to him and he told me that I had been a jerk two years ago. :-/

Same thing happened to me. It actually made me feel bad since I liked Conrad. :( Probably just a bug but it still stinks.

Likewise, I'm bummed. I mean, they're all like "Be nice to him he's a big character in the second game!" Then this happens... I wanna know what being nice to him would've got me!

I remember reading that he can be on your ship in a review. Is this true??

That same review said Pressly, Ash/Kaiden and Wrex also could, so no. It was wrong.

something like this happened in ME1 during a quest, it involved your background.

i didn't find him but i didn't really take the time to look around since i was looking for bugs in game play and not people to talk to.

Unless a correct Paragon Conrad gets the opportunity to tour the ship. We don't know the truth until BioWare confirm or deny a bug.

The problem might be the savegame from ME1, if it saves the wrong value BioWare has a problem, will they fix it in a patch so all new saves use the correct value when it gets imported into ME2, or is it actually ME2 that reads it wrong?

If it's the save from ME1 a fix will be requiring more work. Will they require us all to re-play or make a small program to alter the savegame? Well, you get the idea. It could possibly be a mroe complicated issue to fix if the problem relates to the ME1 savegame to begin with.

I chose the renegade options for Conrad in my last ME 1 playthrough, but finished the game as mostly paragon, so maybe it still is a reverse bug, but I just didn't notice?

Anyway, it doesn't bother me, but I'm sure this type of stuff will keep happening with no patches to fix it. EA service being what it is, and all. :P

However, I HAVE run into other bugs, like some broken quests, missing dialogue options, etc. Maybe they'll get fixed, maybe not. All I know is, this initial first playthrough of ME 2 has felt like a 100% accurate continuation of the choices I made in ME 1. So I have no complaints in that department. :)

I've seen a number of "Conrad Verner acting contrary to reality" threads, and everyone seems to report Conrad reacting as though you chose renegade options with him in ME1. Reminds me of the UNC assignment in ME1 where you are asked to defeat biotic fanatics while avoiding killing delusional scientists. If you manage to save every scientist, Admiral Hackett acknowledges your effort but the news in the elevators reports the outcome of the mission as a bloodbath. (I think I remember someone saying that the same mission is again incorrectly referenced in ME2)

I'm still working on getting a few plot varitations of my level 60 shepard, so I haven't yet seen these ME2 inconsistancies personally, but hopefully Bioware can crank out a patch that includes Conrad, the outcome of the paragon UNC mission, and whatever other slip-ups people may be reporting so that by the time I'm ready to play, ME2 will be nice and shiny. Of course it does, are you dull? The whole point of continuation from Mass Effect 1 is that it does exactly that, continue on the choices you made. It's not a game-breaking bug, but it certainly matters.

It's an obvious bug, they're most likely working on a patch right now. I feel bad for the Xbox people though. They really need to hire more QA imo.
