I am currently playing my second run through the game and I still find him to have the most annoying voice in the game. It sounds like every word he speaks has to first be processed though a soding grinder.

He lost his entire house along with his wife who turned lesbian on him, its pretty much understandable why he is a sodding drunk. I mean common if you had that happened to you, you would be a sodding drunk as well.

Hah. You got the order wrong: He lost his house and wife BECAUSE he was drunk.
Oghren = that dwarf from the flop D&D movie.
Nuff said.
... No.
There's NO excuse for a redheaded drunk dwarf. Seriously..!

Wouldn't you be an unhappy dwarf if you got your fighting rights taken away from you even though you won the proving =(

I found Oghren the weakest of all the characters, he's like a walking dwarven stereotype
This I agree with, as my first play through was dwarf noble so I had a pretty good understanding of Dwarven culture. It's like the whole "flip the fantasy thing on its head" argument--it works until you get NPC's like Oghren. I didn't like him and on my new playthrough as soon as he has done his bit he can cool his heels in camp.
I would even take Wynne over Ogrhen for a sequel.

I don't think I have *ever* seen anyone respond even remotely well to the "returning party member" in Awakening.
I don't think *anyone* wants Oghren as the guy to come back...
Oh, I love it when people assume everyone feels exactly the same about them on an issue. Sigh.
Sorry, snarkiness aside... I happen to like Oghren. Was he my first choice for returning party member in Awakenings? No. Am I disappointed he's the returning companion? No. In fact, I look forward to more antics with him. Doesn't mean I'm going to roam around the forum making pro-Oghren topics all day, either.

I'd love for more of the originals to be available. I'm not going to cry in my beer that they are not. I just hope that the new characters are well developed. DA:O set a very high bar. Hopefully Awakenings will get over it with ease.

I honestly think he is the most irritating character I have ever seen. I hate his jokes too
And it was such a great idea to have him back as a companion in Awakening, everyone must be so pleased.
