Again, No one knows who is going to be the mystery person. I assume you are meaning from the trailor clip that looked like the back of his head. If that's the foundation for your source about who's going to be the mystery returning party member

I believe you beeen mislead, how is it Allister's voice, is all over that video. Almost the entire length of it, we see him and hear him and in new diagloge. Yet we still assume it's Orgren because a one second clip of back of a guy's head. The

Fact is we don't know and we won't know. It could be anyone, to create a thread like this to simply talking about a party member who we don't know but we assume is returning

Morrigan & Alistair top the Grey Warden's poll for wanted returning companion.

My money is on Alistair, since some of the Bioware team had actually mentioned him as a favorite and he carries enough fangirls to get the sales. haha.

Leliana is pulling away now!B)

Question to the fans: Does he make you do *anything* but laugh?

That is why I said he is two-dimensional... if he didn't make us laugh he wouldn't say anything!!

Even if you take him around with you post-Orzammar... he has no depth, just jokes.

What makes Sten so different? He wasn't really a box of chocolates either. Besides [SPOILER?] reminding you of your duty and his love for cookies [SPOILER?] there was little else surprisingly informative about him, except for the ways of the Qunari.

Perhaps the lack of depth in DA:O allows for greater character development concerning Oghren in the expansion.

That is, if the old favourite is indeed Oghren. I personally believe there's a good chance it's him, cause [SPOILER] there wasn't any moment in the game where he had the possibility to die, opposed to Sten or Zevran for instance. If the consequences of one's actions actually carry through to the expansions, it would only seem weird to see the assassin elf again after you killed him earlier.[SPOILER]

I assume Morrigan will have her comeback in later episodes. Other than that, I don't think I have an actual preference.

You know, the "Oghren" could be just a red herring? So don't get too upset because of a trailer. We know for sure who the mystery person is when we play awakening? Right?

I still think bioware could be so cunning to throw us a red herring :-P

From wikipedia:

"A red herring is an idiom referring to a device which intends to divert the audience from the truth or an item of significance."

But, I could be wrong :-D

I would prefer... anyone else, really. Even Leliana, who I could only tolerate when someone else was making fun of her. The only time I really laughed at Oghren was when he mistook M!Warden for a woman, and that was more out of surprise than amusement (and the "brave little soldier" banter with Zevran). His involvement in the "Paragon of Her Kind" quest was compelling and beautiful, and then he turned into that one guy playing a barbarian in everyone's first tabletop game. Maybe its his coping mechanism, but there was no sign of him surfacing from the boozy abyss at any point, so I kind of gave up on him.

There is a great loyalty there, and a fondness for the Warden as the only person in years to take him seriously and put up with his alcoholism (in banter a couple of the companions clearly do this as well). I understand why it would be Oghren--though not why it would be Oghren over, say, Alistair. The only logic I can come up with has already been stated here: that Oghren is nigh unto impossible to get rid of, and thus most likely to be alive/in Ferelden/free to travel. I just hope he has changed, at least a little.

It very well could be. Hasn't it been said somewhere that the returning companion is a secret? So why put that secret companion so blantly in the videos?

Well, DA:O was one of those rare games where I liked pretty-much every recruitable party-member. I would, personally, not mind whoever was returning, but I'm rather glad it seems to be Oghren. I did really like his character. Sure, he's drunk a lot and says lewd and amusing comments, but he does have some depth if you take the time to get to know him. I always found his speeches about considering the Warden family and considering the reasons Branka left him rather touching. Plus, his speech just before the final battle when you have him at maximum approval always makes me smile and shed a single tear.

The entire Deep Roads is essentially Oghren's personal quest. No other character really has that kind of personal involvement in a quest-line. This is probably the reason his actual 'companion quest' is so short.

I, for one, am glad it's Oghren. Because he is awesome.

I think the new Queen of the Black Marsh trailer makes it pretty clear that Oghren is in the party.

I'm gonna go ahead and repeat here what I said in the another thread:

The decision to make Oghren the returning companion was not based on popularity. It was based on what made the most sense in the story. Of all the companions Oghren has the most stable ending given the various choices that can be made throughout Origins. I won't get into spoilers here, but those who have completed the game know that pretty much every other character either A) is dictated by the story to leave Ferelden at the end and/or  B) can possibly be removed from the story (ahem ahem) via the choices the player makes. The only way to lose Oghren is to intentionally make him leave, which is isn't something you really have much reason to do. And even then there is nothing barring the possibility of his return.

I think we need to ask the question..."Just whose favorite is being chosen to return here" because the rest of us certainly didn't get any imput on that one. :P

I want to see Leliana. Oghren joined my party very late in the (first) game and even thogh he has some funny comments, I can do without him. But on my list of least favourite party members I'd probably have to say Sten or Shale. Again, I failed to help Sten in my (first) game and Shale showed up too late. I have no particular interest in those two; although Shale has much more interesting chat compared to Sten from the little I gathered.

So my top five would be:
Leliana
Morrigan
Alistair
Dand (my dog)
Zeveran.

Wynne would appear somewhere after that but only because of her healing magic. I would quickly kick her off the team if I could boost Morrigan's skills to be both fearsome and healing.

Towards the end, when things get more serious, he has one of the most touching speeches. As this is the no spoiler section I can't elaborate.

I think that there are 2 problems why no one wants Oghren:

1- Oghren is the last member most of the people get to join to their party

2- Without counting your main character and the dog, there are on your party 2 rogues (Zev and Leli), 2 wizards (Morri and Wynne) and... 4 WARRIORS!! Alistair use to be the tank, Shale is good for dps, tanks and she rocks.. then are left Sten and Oghren. Since you get Sten earlier, and he uses 2 handed weapon, then there is no need for Oghren so thats why he is out

3-In most of the parties there is a rogue, and the 2 wizards and a warrior, or a wizard and 2 warriors. If we have two wizards, then the warrior is sure Alistair or Shale (tanks), but if there are 2 warriors, one will be the tank, but the other..the main characters with 2 handed weapon? Sten then?

I think they should have made Oghren to carry 2 weapons, but still, these are the reasons why I think he is out most of the time.

i think oghren makes perfect sense.

for one he is the only one who has the backstory of a real grey warden, being left with nothing at all.

everyone else has some other agenda they want to pursue. leliana has her religious calling, wynne won't hold up much longer, zevran... well he might wanna come along but he propably has not much longer to live with the crows on his tail. morrigan will play another role, alistair is most likely king, sten went back to his homeland. dog just doesn't make much of a companion even though he's sweet, shale couldn't care less about wardens... so who does it leave?

also i really liked oghren - especially because he made me hate him despite me really liking dwarves and then growing on me again over time. oghren is great in how he is a hard nut to crack.

Even if that is Oghren there is no proof that he is the party member. They could just toss him in our partyf or one boss fight or maybe it is him either way I am yet to understand all the fuss over this. All I care about is meeting our new party members! I'm sure Bioware cooked up some great characters!!!!!!
