Neither Morrigan nor Leliana are ideal for me. Morrigan is a bit too evil for my taste and Leliana seems kind of nutty. If I had to choose, though, I'd pick Leliana.

Or more ideally, I'd pick someone like Alistair... except with boobs.

I like them both, but I have a feeling Morrigan would chew me up and spit me out in a relationship. I think I'd prefer her as a snark buddy. We could sit on a bench in a park and quietly mock passersby.

On the other hand, Leliana's devout belief in a higher power might cause a few problems, as I'm an atheist and skeptic. I think she might be better as a friend too, but I'd give a relationship a try I guess.

Why not both? Start the romance with Morrigan since she's only into flings she doesn't care that much if you start things with Leliana. You just have to break things off with her, and no harm done. You lose like -15 approval but it's easy to gain back.

Well, my wife is a believer and I'm an atheist and skeptic and we've always got along just fine; in fact our relationship has always been very close. We've talked about our opinions but we've never forced our opinions on each other.  Mind you, I think I have 'hardened' her a little bit compared with when we first got married, and she doesn't attend church anymore. B)

Morrigan is interesting and exciting for a while but I don't see her as long-term relationship material. Leliana on the other hand is the sort of nice, loyal person who is, and there's quite a lot of depth to her too if given a chance. I always 'harden' her in my playthroughs though, to keep the chantry talk at a minimum.

Morrigan hands down. I want her back in the story down the road. What becomes of the child? There is so much more that could be done with this character, not to mention your child. Even without the child for those of you who went that route (I did both) I would love to see Morrigan re-emerge. She was by far my favorite character in the game. Would love to be able to hunt for her, find her, rescue her from some terrible peril.....etc.... There are an infinite number of story lines that could be crafted around Morrigan. I don't care what they do.....just bring back my babe!!

Well, this is a "no spoilers" forum, but previous posters have already revealed major plot points so here goes.

SPOLIERS coming up.

My Lelianna was NOT a good little chantry girl. She was a bisexual assasin who loved her work and had a lesbian affair with her bardmaster until she was betrayed. She hid in the chantry not for religious peace and contemplation - she later admitted she was fooling herself and everyone around her with that act. Once Lelianna finally trusted me enough, she told me of this and Marjolaine came for her. After dealing with Marjolaine, Lelianna admitted she enjoyed being a bard and that that was who she truly was. We then went on to a romance which included a 3 way with the duelist trainer in the Pearl as well as having no problem with me frequenting Morrigan's tent. Don't get me wrong. I liked Lelianna - but her character is not pure by any means.

Morrigan, conversely, is not the Wicked Witch of the Wilds. Her heartless act and focus on power and survival is one of necessity. She is an unwitting puppet of Flemeth and is mortified to discover she is meant to be host to the Flemeth demon. By the end of the game she was hoplessly in love with me, unwilling to share me with anyone, wracked with guilt knowing that she was going to ask me to create an old god. But even that - her motivations for doing so are to break the cycle of Old Gods becoming Archdemons. She instead wants to create a pure being and NURTURE the child and TEACH IT TO DO THINGS FO GOODNESS.

So really . . . depending how deeply one explores the game, neither of these women are what they seem in the beginning.

In the end I chose Morrigan (broke it off with Lelianna). Morrigan had a mission, a sense of purpose, and just seemed to hold a deeper regard for my Warden. Lelianna loved my toon, but not like Morrigan.

Leliana, I think, though neither are optimal. Leliana would have to be hardened though - she becomes a lot less fanatical and more open-minded after that.

Morrigan's just too "ends justify the means" type for me. Though I'm an atheist, I think my world view clashes with Morrigan's more.

Morrigan. She's adorable. But so is Leliana. :/ Dunno. Prolly Morrigan because of the (spoiler?) demon baby thing.

Err ... ??? Leliana of course.

+ Much nicer, much more benevolent
+ More beautiful, more female looking, lets not forget also much better fashion sense
+ Much more interested into other people, much more to tell about herself, much more humor
+ More interesting voice
+ Bard bonus (esp vs icky Shapeshifter)

+ Redhead Bonus
+ Funny accent Bonus
+ French elegance Bonus
+ Bisexual girl Bonus
+ Spiritual person bonus
+ Actually interested in love, much more rewarding romance
+ Believes in you
- Harder to please, but then one could see this as an advantage considering how overly easy Morrigan is
- Some of her beliefs dont really make sense, but oh well

Leliana. C'mon, it's a fictional character, I am sure that this religion stuff isn't as bad and serious as you say. :-D

Oh, Leliana for sure. Morrigan has the more interesting look, but she is twisted.

Of course, Leliana with that whole "the Maker wanted me to..." thing may be nuts in her own way. And she talks too much. One of the cutest fake accent voice acting ever though.

Morrigan is the type of woman you'd have an exciting fling with, while Leliana's the girl you bring home to meet your parents!

I like the type of girl that knows exactly what she wants. Plus, she has a more interesting look.

Hi mom, Hi dad, I'd like to introduce you to my girlfriend ... she's bisexual, used to manipulate men and murder them for a living because her female lover used her as a criminal accomplice, but she's changed, she swears. Now she's a religious zealot who follows me around because she swears her deity told her to help me. Oh and mom, she's shallow, materialistic, and stereotypes other races regularly.

But dad ... you gotta listen to her sing! It's like her voice changes to another woman's!

Parents approve +10! ^_^
