I can't see why everyone hates Morrigan so badly.

Because it hurts their fragile pride and self-image to get dumped by a computer game.

Let me guess, you're 6'5" and 210 lbs of pure, rippling muscle?

I love this anti-nerd posts, it identifies the real nerds from the gamers.

Leliana. Morrigan just seems to inconsistent to me. She's evil just for the sake of being evil, yet at times she can be nice. She's intelligent, but she's so stupid that she can't realize that helping people to gain their support in a fight is a better idea than simply laughing at them and walking away. I had morrigan in my party for a short while, and she dissaproved of every single one of my descisions, i eventually benched her, and have sort of come to hate her.

Leliana of course.  She's sweet and cute and can be funny at times.  Her checkered past as a spy and assassin gives her that core of steel underneath that keeps her from being cavity-inducing.

Morrigan is just, to quote Alistair, "a complete and utter ****", oftentimes for no reason other than, it seems, being a complete and utter ****.  Although I have to give BioWare credit for writing a perfect distillation of the Darwinist philosophy taken to its logical extreme.  Too bad it makes her a lousy human being.

This is the never ending war between boobs and brains. Morrigan is better looking but Leliana is "sweeter" and smarter. Im having a hard time trying to romance with Morrigan because she and i have very different views. Leliana is clever, I think i would like to be with her more.

Brains > Boobs.

And Leliana's Boobs > Morrigan's Boobs.

So order will be Leliana's Brains > Leliana's Boobs > Morrigan's Boobs > Morrigan's Brains.

Morrigan was fun when we just got started, and I enjoyed her bickering with Alistair. But the farther we got, the less she seemed to want to "mesh with the group" and our overall purpose (though it was nice that she warmed up to the dog at least).

To be perfectly blunt, I (in-character) got tired of her ultra-pragmatism. Maybe Wynne's speech about what it means to be a Gray Warden swayed me, or maybe the fact that the PC has only thirty years to live from the moment of Joining - it would be nice to be remembered as a hero, damnit! And you don't exactly build a heroic reputation by abandoning people when they ask for your help.

Plus, when this is all said and done, she will probably turn into a bird and fly off, whereas Leiliana wanted to stick around and keep adventuring together.

Finally, Leiliana is bi, and one day I might be able to convince her to share.

Not that I should be the proper person to comment on this thread, as my mage character is female and heterosexual, but between Morrigan and Leliana, I just like Morrigan a lot more. Somehow, she seems more fiery, more lively, more emotive, more.... everything. There is something about Leliana, instead, that got me distant from her since the beginning. Maybe it was her superstrong religious beliefs which annoyed me most (I still don't know if they are even sincere or if they're a facade).

My mage is best friends with Morrigan, despite the fact that she knows it means having to stand her tantrums and demands, but she is almost a stranger to Leliana.

I pick Morrigan because she acts and looks like the best woman in the game. She has touch of evil and isn't a goody shoes girl like Leliana

why is this even up for debate?

leliana is bisexual and open to threesomes, that by definition makes her more desireable.

there is nothing in the game to indicate morrigan is so sexually as enlightened as leliana however, it is a distinct possibility given the right circumstances, but her true intentions in the game eitehr prohibit this or indicate it is not in her nature-

well have to wait for dao2 if she makes an appearance to see.

Honestly, I find them both at opposite ends of the stereotype spectrum and they're both quite silly in their own ways. Still, my pick is Morrigan hands down, if only because the combination of deafish-sounding accent and enormous eyes that's been stuck on Leliana make her seem, to me at least, like she has a mental disorder, which is just not that attractive.

Morrigan kicks more ass, but both have their advantages, depends on where you are and what you're doing, if you're not a bard Leliana is important for lock picking, but if you are a bard whatever...

I would hazard a guess that sex with Morrigan is actually rather dull. She's that hottie you wanted to bang in high school that you hooked up with 5 years later and were really disappointed by.

Leli, on the hand, is probably ****ing amazing. And she sticks around for more when your journey's done. =D

On my second character, I left Leliana to rot in Lothering. Morrigan is a ****, but at least she's true to form from start to finish. Um, Witch of the Wild anyone?

Leliana for me, im not sure why.

How is Morrigan a romance? she just wants service.
The hound would probably please her.

At first I was enthralled by Morrigan. But as the game progressed, I found I was really drawn to Leliana. She's not a good girl by any stretch, but she has some depth of soul. Morrigan lead a far too sheltered life for my taste. Leli by a landslide.

I'm all about Alistair now, at first I thought he was a puss and annoying, but he's definitely grown on me, He's my fave, like the perfect man funny, snarky, sweet, sensative, and can still stand up for himself and others...I'm all about it....

Morrigan.

My mage likes her because she's nothing like those chantry fearing apprentices he's met back at the Tower. She's so... different.

And thats my roleplaying for the day!

That was pretty much what happened to me. I think it's to do with the fact that Leliana, for want of a better term, lives in the real world and obviously has a clever mind behind those blue eyes ;) Morrigan isn't stupid in any sense, but the constant barrage of terrible advice and weird motivations (like going out of our way to be antagonistic on a mission of  building support)  just infuriated me. If Morrigan were more Lawful Evil rather than Chaotic Weird, it would have been a harder choice. I've no problem with bad girl characters so long as they have some sense.

I dunno. I warmed up to Leliana when she took the stereotypical french attitude and started going on about how orlesian shoes were the best

Well I've gone with Lel on my first playthrough but I can't say I'm enthralled by her. I think it's the accent which strikes me as a teensy bit annoying. Also I wish she would be a little more ironic/sarcastic, she's just a little too wide eyed with all that talk of shoes and hair. No doubt she's a nice girl with a kind heart and that my character would probably be better of with her.

Morrigan is hot and really reminds me of a girlfriend I had once. However, like said girl she is just mean to other people and that is a turn off in the long run. I actually found myself getting angry with her at times, which must mean she is really well-done character. Wouldn't like to have her in my kitchen while pregnant though. I imagine the dishes would be flying.
