So anyone who has followed some of the bad graphics topics have probably seen some of my posts about Frame-Buffer Effects..but I am trying to get an answer on what this things intent is and if it is working right.

When activated, in some areas it adds quality effects to the way the game looks, in others it does the oppose.

For instance, at the start of the mage origin, in the cutscene, if you have FBE on, it looks pretty good, very nice effects and lighting.  Turned off you lose those effects and lighting and things are too dark.

So next after that you enter the fade..with FBE on you get a very nice Blurry edged fade effect, which is quite cool, however if you turn FBE off the place looks much more vibrant, more moody and textures look better.

Then move later to say, the Kokari Wilds.  FBE on, the place is so so very bright...looking into the sky you just see a white massive light which covers the clouds, sun and any details, it also makes the forest very bright and look bad especially textures.  Turn FBE off and the forest looks much much better..textures are better, mood seems to be set properly..though a little dark.

This is the trend throughout the game..it's as if I have to pick and choose to turn FBE off and on as I go through the game..surely this can't be intentional...and I am confused on this matter...

Anyone else noticing similar issues... is this something that can and will be fixed or do I just need to pick one way and take the pros and cons it holds, and deal with it.

That's what I was thinking, it really takes away the gritty, moody feel DA:O is supposed to have. In almost all areas it breaks it. Which is a shame because in a few scenes you can tell they specifically used it for the effects of the scene and it works in those cases...

*sigh*
