 ok so how does one go about keeping their whole damn team alive through the last mission..... I last Jack, Thame, Tali(which really pissed me off), Jacob, and the merc.........any tips out there from ppl?

damn son i heard of one guy losing everyone but 2 people.... which I guess is the only way to keep playing rofl so he had total system failure without shep dying

1) everyone that you plan to use as a specialist/with the other team HAS TO BE LOYAL

2) Understand the roles they will be playing as a specialist. Thane is a assasin not a leader, it wouldnt be logical to assign him to lead the assault squad over say Miranda now would it?

3) Get all ship upgrades except  for PODS, FUEL, and MED BAY. Ones listed are optional and do not have a role in the final mission

I lost Zaeed and Garrus... very sad about them both.

Zaeed was like Boba Fett / father figure and Garrus and me had a long history

Played ending twice on same play though (loaded end to switch choice regarding keeping the base or destroying it, I destroyed it). Had Tali in team both time and she didnt die. Grunt was with me the first end and Thane the second, they both survived. Perhaps having the members you like most with you in the end is a way to keep them alive... Even on Veteran difficulty it isnt that hard if you use cover and the Collector gun, so pick the ones you like most.

As styz pointed out, you need your specialists to be loyal and assigned to the right roles in order for them to be effective.

For example:

Tali and Legion are the best ones to send into the vent. (This one actually requires some work on your part, so I'd recommend that you don't dawdle while opening the vents.)

Miranda or Jacob are perfect for the leadership roles, and I have heard people mentioning that Garrus also gets the job done.

Grunt is good for the Escort work since he's pure muscle and strength, and doesn't need a full squad to back him up.

Etc, etc, etc.

Just be reasonable about who you put in charge of each task and you shouldn't have many problems.

Garruis and Miranda= Fire Team Leaders
Tali= Tech Specialist (Mordin is a Scientist, not a techie)

I won't spoil anymore, like mentioned ..THINK about the role you are using them in compared to what you know of their skills and backgrounds.

Oh, and you should bring the Doc with you for final part. Not sure if it was because of no Omni upgrade or what, but that final section and leaving him behind left him dead for me. I only lost Garrus on my first play through and got everybody out replaying the end sequence. What can I say, I love that Turian.

used garus for fire team leader all the time and tali as tech specialist and i lost no one (except like the normandy crew) but i got the no one left behind acheivment and what got me mad was that kelly died and i liked her the most, i also wish ashley could have played a bigger role in this, it was sort of sad, maybe in upcomming dlc right? I hope

Ohhh also the level cap! Bioware you screwed us over in the leveling aspect and stats upgrading but other than beautiful and well made game, worth every cent.

When your crew gets captured do you ever get them back? do you keep playing after beating the game?

mhm.. yepp, pretty much everyone has to be loyal to make it.



maybe it´s just me but it never occurred to me not to do these side quests.. so for me everyone survided, i too picked jacob for the escort mission but that was just because i gave him accidentally squad incendiary and he kept overriding my ammo which was a bit of a chore.



miranda is a cerberus officer so her leading the second team was a no-brainer..



legion did the door-opening since he seemed to be the toughest techie and that worked well.



aside from that.. normandys shields (tali i think), her weapons (garrus) and the asari-armor (jacob ?.. not sure) will do the trick.

lol? First time through I kept everyone alive.

Everyone loyal, all upgrades. Made Legion do the vent, Garrus led the 1st team Miranda the second, Samara for the Biotic shield, kept Tali and Thane with me the whole time. Jack led the crew members back.

I lost Mordin and Legion on my first play. I was rather shocked, as they were both fully upgraded and loyal. I let Grunt take the Normandy crew back, cause I thought if anyone could protect them it was a krogan.

I got everyone through the first time except I lost some of the normandy crew, Kelly included. Though losing Kelly I believe has to do with doing side missions before going after them after they have been taken. To avoid that you should wait to recover the Reaper IFF until you are almost completely ready. That way once the IFF is installed all you should have to do is Legions loyalty mission. So once they are taken you can go right after them.



I sent Legion into the vent and had Garrus lead the first team. I had Miranda lead the second team that does the distration while I had Samara use her biotics. I had Garrus lead the Normandy survivors. I don't know if he lost any surviors or it was because I was late getting there but it did mention something about "most of the crew". Not sure exactly what it mentioned. Otherwise my recruitable team made it back.



Just pay attention to what the descriptions of the team says.

I need to get the **** upgrades like no other then......hopefully things turn out better on my second playthrough..... none the less the game is amazing and I cant wait to get the 3rd one

legion is easly the best salution for the tunnel part, u see his fingers in action when closing the doors? ****in speedy

yeah.....I really like the new character they add for the most part minus the merc......im glad I did not have to pay for him to DL him

I had everyone loyal, but I had to restart the Endgame because I lost Legion when I sent him in. When I did it with Tali she survived, but I think you just need to make sure you activate the valves pretty quickly.



Chose Jacob to lead the team and diversion.

Grunt to escort Chakwas (everyone else from the crew was dead but I still got the achievement for No One Left Behind)

Thane and Tali in my final squad against the Human Reaper

I had everyone on my first team survive

Vents- Legion
Squad leader- Garrus both times
Escort- Grunt
Biotic- Samara
Final boss- Legion, Thane

Pretty much had every upgrade and everyone was loyal.

I lost Legion in the vent, I guess I wasn't fast enough with the vents, that made me sad, and lost Zaeed when he was the leader of the diversion team, he did fine the first time...

I disproved 1 my playthrough, but 2 is 100% pure collumbian true.  Specialist selections NEED to bo LOYAL or you screw em over.

Thane did fine being teh capitan of the infiltration team.  Thats WHY I chose him.  Infiltrate=stealth

Wow I went for the worst ending possible, didn't make anyone loyal, no ship upgrades and pretty much everyone died, it was epic.
