OK, I have a solution for you: Take your game back or sell it to a friend, and play NWN. You seen so fond of that game, and not fond of this one. This game is far from perfect, but it has it where it counts. Stop complaining about this nonsense, and play the damn game, enjoy it, or put it away and play something else!

Absolutely brilliant suggestion!

Have you ever seen a roman armour? They wore skirts. All of them.

yes.  yes. because i forgot the game was called Roman Age: Origins.  Look.  You want a roman/skirt type armour ... super fantastic ... but I am just saying maybe throw in a few other choices too ... you know ... without dumb looking flappy skirt parts ... is it "less realistic" who freakin cares ... there are elves in the game .. the weapons are verging on the Anime area

Actually is you look at real armor from most civilizations, unless you were a farmer or other poor grunt, it was ornate, dyed and in general prissed out in every way imaginable. People tended to obsess over over these things. It's part of the ritual.

Go play another game already, you're just whining over silly and unimportant details

The real problem is not the armor, it's Morrigan's ******. If you're going to sacrifice defense for cleavage, have some half-decent boobs to show, for Maker's sake!

this reminds me of the classic Curse of Azure bonds book cover, funniest ever chain shirt

Actually that was placed on her near the end of the book to enable her to be killed, so not as amusing as you'd think.

On other news:
As for the armours being ugly/retarded/; feel free to turn off Lineage 2 and go take a look at real armour.  Bioware are trying to make this game a believable as they can without putting off the fanbase.  One of those requirements means less fantasy armours in favour of more realism.

Another comment of your's, Belbo, made me chuckle: " you wanted to be encased head to toe in tight black leather (better to sneak up and kill you with)".  Now, I'm not entirely sure whether this is just pig-ignorance, or whether you are actually that stupid.

Tell me, what colour are forests?  In addition, what colour is the night?  The answer to the first is brown & green, the answer to the second is not pitch black.  Black clothing tends to be much darker than night, even those dark ones where the lighting is poor. This can be coupled with the technology to create leather armour, namely the construction of the Burgundian Jack & Boiled Leather.  Look them up; you might learn something.

Now get back into the kitchen! :P

and what is with this "the armour is trying to look realistic" .. uh.  there are dagons in this game ... dragon is even in the name .. so lets put to bed the 'realism' arguments ... this is a fantasy game .... do i care if all of the equipment is medieval certified? no.  i just want some diversity.  and nobody can tell me that those ridiculous oversized weapons are "realistic" ...

You're an idiot. Have you been following this game at all? Sure, the game has dragons in it. And yes, it's a fantasy. But it's designed to be a gritty, believable one. It's meant to have a more down to earth feel to it, like you'r in a real, tangible world. One that just happens to contain dragons. This does not mean that the equipment and technology should be bat-**** insane. Calm down and stop moaning.

So.  That would explain the Maul taller than the character then?  Or the oversized one handed longsword?  Puh-lease.   There is plenty in the game that isn't "gritty and believable."

I did not ask for lime green and hot pink armour.  I asked for black/grey armour.  You want to say that is too "batsh##t" for this "gritty and believable" game with weapons that would fit in an episode of Berzerker or InuYasha than by all means .. enjoy your cognitive dissonance ..

yeah.  but see that doesn't fit their argument so .... armour and weapons are the most personal thing imaginable.  that was often true in real life and it is certianly true in RPGs .... whether table based or computer based.  At least that is true for many people and for a game maker the calibre of Bioware to simply ignore it is kind of sad ... many other things are fantastic about the game (i particularly love the witty reparte) ... but i don't think excelling in one area (or other areas) forgives skimping in such an important area as this ... just my opinion tho

Since you guys are ignoring the warning to stay civil, I'm closing this one down. If the OP wishes, they can restart, I suppose. If you don't think it's worth discussing, DON'T discuss it, and move on to another thread.
