I'm trying to go all Paragon for the game, but I've hit a snag.  On "The Professor" stage, it seems like no matter what I do I get Renegade points after completing the mission.  I can't advance any further without getting this dude.

Is there a way to avoid those renegade points once I've vented the Plague cure?

From my understanding I don't think there is a way to get no renegade points. I think sometimes you will get both. I did quite a few of the renegade interrupts and a few renegade conversation options and I didn't get a lot of renegade points. I wouldn't worry about it. You may end up getting some of the lower level renegade convo options but other than that you'll pretty much be all paragon.

I'm actually trying to get all renage points with everyone I can. Werid I know, I don't like walking around threating women, aka Jack and being mean to everyone though I do what I have to. I suggest if you seriously want to go all Pargon

You need not to talk back, act trusting, and non arugmentive. Anything else will get you the rebel. Save the game before an encounter, then speak with him if you gain Rengage points then simply click load saved game and try using different tatics to encounter him

I noticed those renegade points aswell. I figured they where due to me not finding his colleague when on the mission to cure the plague. Unfortunately my saves were a bit screwed so i couldn't go back to fix that.

As far as I can tell its not possible to go through the game with out picking up at least some points from your opposing mindset. Its not a big deal, a tiny box of red or blue is not going to kill you, I honestly could never play ME1 or ME2 with out picking up some opposite points as I refuse to make completely retarded or xenophopic choices.

i think like joshd said, sometimes pushing the issue to get more information is considered 'renegade'
