If I decide to replay the game as my new (imported, also from ME1) character, and he dies, and apparently you won't be able to play ME3 with the same character if you die, will I not be able to play ME3 with the same character if I die during this play through?

EDIT : At least on Renegade, or has somebody figured out how to live throughout the game? That would really help.

I lived through the game. Correct me if I'm wrong, but during the Normandy vs. Collector ship battle is the only time Shepard can die. Just get the 3 upgrades and you'll be fine.
