Having a problem with Mass Effect 2, PC.

The game crashed while I was loading myself into the mission to get Samara. I didn't think this would be a big deal, so I restarted the game (first crash I've had, so that was nice at least).

However, all my achievements are gone now. Every single one. I've never saved my crew from a horrible situation, I haven't researched any tech, I haven't warped any barriers. Nothing. It feels like I've lost her entire history - and I don't know what to do about it.

It seems so hopeless to just go on as I am, partway through the game and all achievements are gone... what if it happens again? Is there some way to get them back?

The saves themselves don't seem affected. I've gone back and checked several but the achievements are gone everywhere. I've been looking in the forums yet can't seem to find anyone else that has this problem, but when googling, it seems some might have encountered something similar in ME 1? I didn't, had no problems there.

Will these lost achievements affect the story badly? Can I just continue on and get them again (sigh) without it having any bad impact on the storyline?

Any help would be appreciated. I've been playing almost non-stop since I got the game and now I'm feeling fairly dejected. If it's any help, it's downloaded from Steam, but I can't see how that could be the problem here.

Same happend to me. Feels Empty now. No Bonuses on a new character no nothing.

Even importing the "old" Me2 character doesnt do anything. No cash no weapons no nothing

Same here. I was just about to jump the Omega 4 Relay and I had every achievement except Paramour, Insanity, the Level 30 one, and any story achievement after the relay jump. I was all excited to start a new game and get Insanity, my final Achievement and not ahve to worry about getting x headshots, or melting x armour or warping x barriers or exploring planets, etc. Now I have to do everything all over again.

same here my computer crashed today and i lost all my achivements V.V any idea on how to fix ?

 Sounds similar to a problem I have.  I played ME 1 through again as a full-blown engineer then "imported saved games."  When I fired up ME2 (after going through a different start-up sequence -- I had to log on to EA Online while in Steam (weird)) -- all my achievements were gone.  I'd achieved every single one, Including Insanity.

Actually there iis no way to fix it. All you can do is (again) achieve them. I had the same issue 4 weeks ago. I have unlocked all achievements in one playthrough on insanity. Try the same thing.

There is a way to preserve them. Make regular backups of your Profile folder in

Your Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2\\BIOGame.

maybe that is the common issue here is steam?
