EA seems pretty determined to not let me play this game; it wouldn't work for over a day at launch (I got stuck on the "please wait" screen after entering EA Account information), then was working for less than a day before this started.  I already contacted EA support but based on my previous interactions with them I won't get a response back for like 3 weeks so I'm hoping someone here has some idea how to fix this.

When I boot up Mass Effect 2 it shows me the following error message:

"Unable to authorize the listed DLC.  Please log into Cerberus Network with the account used to purchase the DLC.
Zaeed
Inferno Armor
Normandy Crash Site"

Problem is that after I hit "okay" the little Cerberus Network laptop opens and says I'm connected.  There's no way to log in or do anything wrt that.  If I hit "new content available" it takes me to my entitlements page on this site, confirming that I should have access to all of that.

So I figured the error message was a bug since, hey, I'm connected, and the thing's telling me I have all my DLC.  So I try to load my game and get this error message:

"The selected save game cannot be loaded.  The following downloading content is missing: Normandy Crash Site, Zaeed"

So I can't play the game because of this.  Someone suggested that I should turn off auto-logging into my EA Account in case maybe it was bugged and just looking like I was logged in; so I tried that.  I still get the first error message when I reach the main menu.  Then I click connect or log in or whatever on the Cerberus laptop, enter my EA Account information, and it seems to accept it without any issue whatsoever and the laptop opens up.  Then I try to load a game and again get the second error message.  So logging into my EA Account, which this site confirms should have the DLC, does nothing at all (????????).  It's been like this for over a day.

This shouldn't be an issue with my computer or firewall, as I've never had any problem with any online-enabled application except for this one, and assuming I did, the laptop opens, which according to everything means I should be connected, and when I hit new content available it takes me to my entitlements page here, confirming that it's the same account and everything (I only have one EA Account and it's registered to this site).   Additionally, it working before now, when EA suddenly decided I was no longer ~authorized~ to play a game I spent $50 on.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?  Seems doubtful - I've Googled the error message and roughly 3 people in the universe other than me appear to have this issue - but just in case.  Either that or I'm probably waiting til sometime late February before EA support gets back to me on letting me play a game I pre-ordered.

This worked for me as i have a different email address for ea and bioware,

Pc - if you redeemed your extras on the website before you started the game, downloaded them and then started the game, logged into ea then found you could not access the cerabus network, or that your redeem code is already in use.

1. launch the game

2. go to extras

3. go to options then online,

4. uncheck the auto log in

5. exit restart the game then log in with your bioware email and password

it worked for me.

Yeah, someone suggested this to me and I tried it.  Unfortunately it doesn't work for me.

Also my problem is a little dfferent; I did redeem the extras before I started the game and installed them before starting, but logging into EA worked just fine (not counting the day one "please wait" issue with EA's servers).  Now it has suddenly decided I am no longer authorized to play my game.  So I don't know what the deal with that is.

EDIT: Also, my Bioware account is my EA account, so they have the same email.

Well, I am getting the same initial message as you, although mine includes blood armor and collector's armor. I am then able to play the game but cannot access the DLC in-game or log-in to the Cerberus laptop. I can access the internet from ME2 interface: if I click the Downloadable Content button from the main screen before Cerberus laptop screen, it takes me to social network site and I see the list of my entitlements for my single EA account. However, if I attempt accessing the Cerberus laptop, it tells me to have an internet connection open, which I do, then denies access.

So, not the same in all respects but yours is the first I've seen with the same error message about the DLC.

I got the same message about being unable to load the save games post-Cerberus network downloads after getting past the "unable to authorize". I now have it working since setting up firewall exception for ME2 and going online before launching ME2 each time. The Cerberus Network activates on its own and the content is all there. No more error messages or logging in to EA from within ME2.

i get those same messages whenever i try loading a game when i'm OFFLINE. i don't have the luxury of being home all the time. i'm on a wireless sprint network, and sprint doesn't have coverage everywhere in the united states. although they have coverage in most places. sometimes i'm in places where there is no signal. once such place is just south of pagosa springs, co, at the new mexico-colorado state line. there is no cell phone coverage out there. period. my air card is a hopeless case whenever i'm going through there and have to shut down for my mandatory break.

I was having similar issue.

I was getting the same message if my pc was not connected to the internet.

Check out my post to see if it sounds familiar and there is a link to a solution that worked for me.

Hope it workd for you.

Just to add to the above ...

I registered and downloaded the DLC but I forgot to register the game and I needed to register the game as well.

When will this "connect to the internet to play DLC" end? If you just did your part not to sever portions of the game as DLCs, this problem should have never happened in the first place. Fix the damn thing because some of us have limited caps on bandwidth.

It doesn't matter if you don't register the game, the dlc promo codes are the only ones useable.

I'm sick of being told to authorize everytime I log into the game

this is driving me insane.

I do not have a permanent net connection and what's the point of going online everytime I wanna play an offline game???

Come on Bioware, don't tell me I paid good money to authenticate every time I want to play?!!?.

whilst the pirates have no need to authenticate because they have bypassed it.

sigh fix this please.

Trame1 I have the exact same problem as you and it has been like this for over four days. I have tried everything I can think of along with searching to the ends of the internet to try to find a solution. No luck. If you guys have found a fix, please, PLEASE, bump the information my way. I've just about given up and understanding that I'm $50 poorer due to an awful mistake by BioShock.

I'm having this problem as well, it's a SINGLE PLAYER GAME Bioware!!!  Paying customers should not have to suffer because of some companies fears of mass DLC piracy.  Although this does push people to just want to get a piracy bypass via torrent.  Listen to your paying customers, else they stop paying in the future.

I pre-ordered ME2 through steam, but I cannot get any of the DLC to work. I downloaded the inferno exe from the Bioware site (signed in using my existing EA login) and installed it. However, when I started the game, I got this message:

"Unable to authorize the listed DLC.  Please log into Cerberus Network with the account used to purchase the DLC.

Inferno Armor"

If I clicked OK, the cerberus laptop would open, indicating that I was connected to the Cerberus network (I never had to sign in to this, it did it automatically even before I had the BioWare.com account).

I followed the instructions from glyptog here, and manually logged in to cerberus with my bioware/ea email. I got prompted for my Cerberus key, and when I entered it, it said the key was already in use!

I don't know how I was logging in before, but there seems to be no way to return to the account login prompt. I can't even connect to Cerberus now, so I'm worse off than when I started!

My steam account uses the same email address as my EA/BioWare login. Any ideas?

Today when I went to play, I found that I now have the inferno armor in the game. However, I still can't connect to Cerberus in-game, or download Zaeed or any of the other free DLC.

I guess my Cerberus key got automatically linked to a different email when I first started the game. Any idea how to reset it? I waited 30 min for a EA live chat, and as soon as the website said I was at top of the queue, it told me the chat was cancelled! I tried to email EA support through their website, but the form kept crashing my browser. Can anyone at BioWare help?

Same problem here.

There is no way to verify the credentials for the login screen does not open.

EA's servers do not respond.

I tried to access via browser and can only access websites of BioWare. The problem seems to be EA's servers, but nobody gives us a satisfactory answer.I got all legally DLC released so far and because of a failure I can not use them in a SINGLE PLAYER game?

This is unacceptable. I demand compensation.

Mass Effect 2 PC Technical Support (Spoilers Warning)

This forum is for fans and owners of Mass Effect 2 on the PC to assist each other with technical questions. Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts, but fans are encouraged to try to assist each other here.

Simply saying "Same problem here" gives us absolutely nothing to work with in order to help troubleshoot your problem, so perhaps being a bit more specific on which DLC you are having problems with will get you answers.

I have no problems connecting to EA's servers, so the problem could be at your end, either your PC, or possibly ISP. Again, with the limited info you have provided, theres not much that we can do.

Using caps and demanding compensation gives your post the look of a rant, rather than a request for help. Save the rants for those who are paid to put up with it, EA. On this forum, we're just here trying to do you a favour.

So, help us help you. What is the exact error message? Have you disabled the automatic login in the options to confirm that the account it is trying to log in with is the same one you purchased the DLC with? Have you opened the relevant ports on your firewall to allow access? What have you done at your end, to make sure the problem isnt a local one?

Do not make statements based on YOUR level of technical expertise.

Yes I have the right to demand my money back if they do not have adequate support product. And exercise this right should not offend anyone. But you seem to be offended! The laws of my country I shall ensure that (Brazil).

I've solved the problem and nothing, absolutely nothing of what you posted so far, helped me do that. Moreover it seems that you forgot that saying: The customer is always right. I came to this forum with the desire to help and not to be treated as a complete layman. And if this is how you think the company should treat its customers, point to come here to do this, you're losing a lot of potential customers.
