I have ME2 sitting here waiting to be played, but I want to finish my last ME1 playthrough first. In the process I am trying to hit level 60, does anyone know how much XP there is from Ilos until then end up the game?
ME1 - How much XP is there from Ilos forward?

Even with the huge amount of XP you need from level 59 to 60?

I had a save right before Ilos, so I checked.
There's around 50k experience between landing on Ilos and the end of the game.

Level 60 is essentially impossible in one play through unless you use the XP glitches. I imported a level 60 character into ME2 but I don't think the bonuses were really worth it. I mean, I enjoyed getting level 60 in ME1, but don't do it just for the ME2 bonuses, IMO.

Thank you Stengahplois. I am on my second play through with this character, wasn't trying to hit 60 first time around. And I'm doing it for the achievement.

I genuinely thought it was more XP there, but then maybe my memory is playing tricks on me - I know my Shep hit 60 in playthrough two and I conquered it in that stage of the game.

^^^ This is X-TREMELY encouraging as I'm at 838k right now, and have only BDtS and Ilos/Final Battle left to complete on my 2nd run through. Schwing!

There is 135 xp on Ilos and an additional 153 xp back on Citadel. That's a total of 288 xp. So you better be really close to 60 if you want to make it.
Just GiveXP if it's that big a deal to you.

I just finished a second play-through of ME1 trying to get to level 60, and I only made it to 59. Did anyone make it on only two play-through?
Wait...what's this "GiveXP"? Tell me please! I don't want to go through this a third time.

Probably a console command if you're on a PC.

I just got my ME1 character to level 60 last night.
My second playthrough I started at level 50 exactly (I leveled when the Avatar of Sovereign was killed). SO my second playthrough I was exactly at level 50 and made it to 60 when I convinced Wrex not to shoot me.
It was NOT easy though. I did half of the game up 'til that point on hardcore and the other half on insanity, I don't think there was an xp difference.
Pretty much I did EVERY sidequest and explored every available planet before even setting foot on Therum. After Therum I talked to every character (denied each since I wanted Shepard to be single for Tali) and got their XP from their conversations.
I killed EVERY possible unit I could outside the MAKO.
It's a lot of exploring the uncharted worlds (I also did not sex the consort so I could get extra xp from the ball ruin) and I was Paragon the whole time. I killed Helena Blake because I got more XP, but I feel bad about that because had I spared her I still would've leveled on Virmire. You can get the last ten levels in one playthrough. Just make sure you do EVERYTHING. I mean you explore every planet, mine every mineral, and kill everyone outside the MAKO.

I just did it last night. I did the same route as Antilles did. I made it to level 50 on my first playthrough, and just did an EXTREMELY thorough runthrough this time around. Visited every planet, mined/scanned every mineral, asari writing, turian insignia and salarian medallions. Killed everything out of the Mako (they really should give an achievement for killing all the thresher maws ;p), got almost all codec entries (missed the protheans at the beginning of the game). There is no XP bump on the hardcore or insanity difficulties, but you get an XP multiplier based on your character's level. So a level 59 will get more XP for a kill than a level 49.
It popped for me about 1/2 through the BDtS DLC, so I was able to blaze through Ilos using the Mako guns to speed it up.

Hey hey. Watch the name calling. I obviously don't cheat in games as much as you do.
Anyway, after the second play-through, I still had around 90,000 XP to get to 60, yet I did every quest (went to every planet) and BDtS the second time. Not sure why I couldn't get it in two.

Well, since I've completed the game 7 times (5 of those on insanity) doing at least 95% of everything each time... I'm not inclined to do multiple runs to get a level 60 character since I deleted mine long, long ago. So I guess I'm a cheater, it's GiveXP for me. I only need one level 60 though, so I can hit 30 on my first ME2 run as well as trigger the bonus XP achievement so all my level 53 characters can hit 30 when I import them.
I'm also a pumpkin eater.

I take a pretty relaxed attitude to cheating in single player games. It doesn't affect anybody's experience except the player themselves, so why make a fuss about it?
It's a whole different story when it comes to online/multiplayer games though, of course.

i got to level 56 that's it , i did everything, but it is impossible to get to 60 with no cheats. i giev up, played to end on insanity, was as easy mode as easy, but the difficulty of insanity in me2 is way more harder than in me1, like 200%. **** nice, guess i be stuck in it longer than my 1 playtrough 26h
