I am aware that the Geth Pulse Rifle is only obtainable on hardcore mode. Someone said that all I had to do was switch from normal to hardcore before I land and stay on hardcore for the rest of the mission until I get to Tali where I can find the rifle. Problem is, all of my saves are after I have landed and I seem unable to change the difficulty on the restart of the mission. Could someone please tell me if I am seriously screwed or not?

by putting a weapon only on hardcore/insane. What's the logic in that. It seems like some sort of cruel and unusual punishment for forgetting at the last second to have a backup file on the Normandy.

Actually it's not a punishment, it's a reward for playing on hardcore.

Yes well I played the whole level on hardcore except for the one second after the shuttle drops me off and it isn't there.

So you should have saved earlier. Live and learn. Bioware didn't screw you over.

The fact that you're even allowed to only play this level on hardcore and still get the rifle is probably an oversight on Bioware's part. I'm sure they meant the rifle as a reward for playing the whole game in hardcore.

Or it's a reward for playing on a harder difficult that has no massive bearing on the game
