Hey guys! I'm an infiltraitor and  I was wondering if you guys had any tips? I'm playing around with teammates I do not have all of them I just Garrus. (I know I'm not very far). Even with skills I could use any tips like I find Cyro and Disrupter ammo most useful. I'm more of safe player more concern with surviving rather than pure chaos. I like to play this game strategically. Thanks everyone!

Remember to use your cloak, you'll do serious damage. Also there is a mission you'll get to (main story) that will hook you up with a sweet new sniper rifle, once you get that you will dominate.

If you want to play it safe, max out incinerate and spam it from behind cover. Good for armor and it saves ammo. :)

As for team mates, infiltrators are well-equipped to handle pretty much any situation, so you don't need to worry terribly much about who you bring. Just choose the people you like the best, that's what I do anyway.

If you're on insanity, bring people with warp or overload though.

I haven't made an infiltrator yet myself but plan to for my next playthrough. However I still feel I've gotten a feel for what would work well with an infiltrator.

I found playing my Vanguard that Garrus was the ideal companion to back me up. Garrus would sit back with a sniper while I moved up and flushed enemies from cover where he could pick them off with the sniper. To that end I'd recommend bringing Tali, Grunt, or Jack (all shotgun users you can use to flank and flush enemies from cover with). Jack or Grunt might be the better choices as Grunt is a very tough meatshield and Jack has very useful biotics to forcibly remove enemies from entrenched positions.

I haven't put many points in the ammo talents. Mostly Incinerate, Operative, and Cloak. I haven't put anything in cryo ammo yet so I can't comment on it.

I use tali and jack... I find Tali's drone to be awesome for getting the enemies out in the open for easier sniping, as well as letting Jack pull people out or shockwave people away if a group starts getting close to my position. I also leave them both with shotguns and let them take out anything that is getting too close. I agree with the above poster on grunt being another good partner.

Incinerate is an excellent move to use on Vorcha and Krogan. It prevents them from regenerating for a time, making it easier to peg them as they are reeling. Incinerate is also excellent against Collector Praetorians. It does a great job taking down their barrier and armor from behind cover. Cryo is also excellent to max out and use with a Sniper Rifle on tougher opponents, as a headshot will usually result in huge damage and will likely freeze them meaning that the next shot should shatter them. The Sniper that Grucifer mentions is excellent for this.

If you're on anything up to Hardcore, what everyone has said is pretty much it.

Until you get the Viper, your sniper rifle is pretty much worthless and only to be used for really long range stuff. Once you get it, thats pretty much all you use. Do _not_ upgrade to the Widow on the ship.

Cloak is frankly, worthless, since the major selling point of the class is the sniper rifle and cloak serves no purpose at range, but the ammos are also pretty worthless so you have a lot of spare points to throw around.

If you're on Insanity, don't even bother. Just level up a Sentinel/Engineer/Adept on casual and use that to do Insanity.

Yea, I was wondering how Cloak and a sniper would combine. It seems like they should be mutually exclusive.

I think cloak is pretty useful, big damage increases +75% damage when specced into assassination... plus when things do manage to get close, you can cloak to get them to turn and then hit em in the head with a snipe shot. Also getting free shots without getting bullets blazing from every direction at you is easy with cloak.

I also will say, I prefer the sniper rifle at almost any range unless they're right on you. But maybe that is cause I cloak so often, I just sit around sniping things for massive damage while staying hidden. I guess it just depends on your playstyle but for the style I use, cloak is probably my most useful talent.... Get a fully shielded, armored guy who manages to get close to you, cloak +75% damage right upside the head is usually pretty damn useful.

Nobody should ever get close enough to you for it to matter. I suppose a couple of the infinite respawn areas might use Cloak rather well, but I still think the only reason you should get it is to unlock Incinerate.

[edit] Oh, also, max the class skill asap and abuse the time slowdown on zoom constantly.

Well that's just one plus to it, if you played through and nobody ever gets close to you, kudos >.>, but that's just one more plus. Cloak is however useful for more like I said, 75% damage increase is useful from any range. To me that serves exactly the purpose of what an infiltrator is. When you're placing more value on hitting things with huge damage from a distance over many hits at closer range, massive damage buffs to me serve the class more than any other single talent.

Edit: also I agree, the class talent slow on zoom is godly.

Wow thanks guys! I'm gonna start using incinerate probably do some extra damage at that. Thanks for all the tips. Also I do find cloak pretty useful in certain situations, it's just fun to stare them down without them knowing you're there then BANG!

Make sure you have someone with Overload to take off shields because when you upgrade the sniper rifle, it is devastating on armor.

I also recommend getting shotgun for your weapon to pick from because being able to go invisible and get up close with the shotgun (especially if you max your cloak and get the damage bonus) is devastating.

The Widow sniper rifle is leagues better than the viper. The viper is only really good for shooting fodder in the face, the widow can 2 shot anything in the game if you are using the correct ammo. I'd rather have to use my smg to gun down fodder then have the big powerful sniper rifle for tough mobs. On hardcore and insanity it changes a bit, you tend to run out of ammo with the widow too often.

What is peoples thoughts on the Incisor Sniper Rifle, those that have it?

I've been a bit hesitant to equip it since adding it to my account earlier today due to the whole 3 shot thing and only having just started off. I figure it must be best using it on a mission where you figure you aren't going to be fighting against swarms of enemies?

it has 3 clips with 15 shots each, and a 3 burst fire. That adds up to 15 trigger pulls before you have to find more ammo, more than the original sniper. It's also semiauto, as opposed to bolt-action, meaning you can kill something like a charging krogan faster. I still like the single-shot and other semi-auto because they are more reliable, the burst shot does have a slight recoil after each bullet, so they don't go exactly where you want them to.

What have you found to be the best ammo for an infiltrator?
I'm thinking of  using Jack for group warp ammo.
Is incindiary ammo better?
Disruptor ammo doesn't seem worth it as long as you have someone with overload for bosses.
