Spoiler warning, you've been warned.

So.. I am quite a "wiki type". And I am quite impressed with the plot, not just the gameplay itself. There's a part I missed out though when Shepard goes onto the Collector's ship.

I missed the part where EDI explains to Shepard about the collectors. They somehow connect to Protheans, that's all I heard, please if anyone caught that, explain it to me.

Also, if you ever look at the codex, is it just me or I have the feeling that the husks look similar to protheans? hmmmmm Might be a clue to that the Reapers are somehow... Protheans? With its agents such as collectors, geth.. etc possess the Prothean technology, such as creating husks? Well that collector ship part I partially missed out seemed to have made perfect sense for me. Still, I missed the part of it. And I want to know!

The Collecters *are* the Protheans, just heavily modified from their original beings.



As Mordin points out, the Collectors are heavily altered Protheans to which you can actually inquire about saving them when he continues on EDI's line about the Reapers removing the superfluous DNA and replacing most of their internal structure with tech and then proceeding with indoctrination.



The husks are basically fully indoctrinated beings, hence the varied look of the standard Husks and the Scion for example.
