The council STILL does not believe in the reaper threat?  After all that, after all I did for them and after all the patience I showed them they still are insisting the reaper is just some Geth construct?

I am stunned...and outraged.

The Renegade Shepards were right.

The new, all-human council, doesn't believe it, either.

if you kill them in ME1, the human council comes to the same conclusion, so dont feel bad.

Honestly, you really think that out of the hundreds of intelligence and misinformation organizations that exist in glactic politics, that they WOULDNT downplay the reaper threat? Everyone's looking out for their own interests, easier to do when everyone isnt 'uniting for the good of the galaxy' and all that, same as always.

Oh i thought ME3's plot was us joining up with the collectors, seeing as how joining up with enemy factions seems to be the trend in bioware sequels nowadays "We're all for humanity now, heres a ship and a crew, we promise we're good now regardless of the horrors we commited in the previous game, you can trust us"

Interesting about the all human council.

Does anyone know what happens if you play as a paragon Shepard who sacrifices the council as a "necessary evil?"

Do we have a new coucil with Aliens led by a human?

I think the council is just in denial, I mean after you die no threats of any more reapers happen in like 2 years, it does not surprise me they think it ended I guess.

Currently playing the paragon that sacrificed the council right now as a femshep. I'm a fan of Mark Meer, I think he does an excellent job, but man Jennifer Hale is just a goddess with the voices, it's madness.

I think the all-human council only exists when you chose to sacrify the old council as a renegade shepard.

I saved the council as a paragon shep in the first game. I hope in ME3 my paragon shep can take each of them to the air lock and space them one by one. They weren't too bad in the first one. I could handle the BS in the first one but now even as paragon I'm going to tell them off.

I did that, i sacrificed the council because, lets be fair, you don't just half ass an attack on a reaper.
Anyway, the council was led by humans and were equally as stupid as the first council (Though I never saw them, Anderson just said he was going to talk to the council and I never saw them).
Got sidetracked, anyway, the council is all human regardless of why you didn't spare ships to save them in ME1. Save the council or not in ME1 it doesn't change much in ME2... it might in ME3 though

Well, if Shepard manages to stay Paragon after all this he deserves a whole planet for himself where he can chill out after this is all done and over.

Look at the evidence from their point of view. They have:

1) The testimony of a Spectre who initially learned of them in a dream supposedly caused by a 10,000 year old psychic beacon.

2) Additional testimony of that Spectre, plus her close associates who were with her on Virmire/Ilos.

3) A big honkin' ship of unknown construction that attacked the Citadel.

The "Shepard is nuts" explanation is a bit more occam's razory than believing the Reaper story. (Granted, the possibility of an Asary mindmeld is a bit of a plot hole.)

That said, the Council remains intransigent because it is convenient for the story, and because they are poorly written cliched characters, analogous to the police captain who is always berating the hero cop for not doing his paperwork-- the whole point is to make the audience smile when they get their comeuppance.

Hum well maybe Mindmeld are not 100% accurate if someone crazy maybe it feel truth to the mind *Shrug*

I think the council need to show more inner division between its member all three seem to think alike no matter what
