I agree with you, Kallichan. It seems like guys don't get that women like to see action, too. Apparently, we only like the gushy stuff. Which is true, don't get me wrong, and we definitely appreciate it more, in general, but I was surpired we didn't get to see more of Thane, especially with all of the obsessing over his zipper and chest, etc.

I'm slightly thankful we don't see more of Garrus and Tali.

I didn't really have a problem with it until I saw Miranda's scene. They got so much more, it's very annoying.

I don't mind Garrus not slamming femshep against the wall and ripping her clothes off (though.. no doubt that'd be hot lol!), but something more than a head bump. Also, I was really surprised with Thane's romance scene.

He was the first character I saw in commercials and he's in a full out cinema scene, why they didn't utilize his scene more is beyond me.

Oh yeah.. that's right, it was a femshep love scene lol.  Eh, oh well.. again I hope they give a better scene for FemShep and Garrus in ME3, and they do better alien / human love scenes better.

I know some players demanded talimance and garrusmance and such, but it really does no good for the 'aliens are different life forms' thing, that's a very basic principle of science fiction.
An actualy sex scene would degrade it to a joke more than it is already.

The idea is actually not as far out there as you might think. If you do some research you'll find that that most life evolved along a relatively similiar line. For example, think of all the species on earth. How different is our reproductive process from that of, say, a lion? A whale?

There are limits, of course, given specific and explicit physiology, but as long as there's a pole and a hole (apologies for the crudeness, but I couldn't think of a more apt metaphore), intercourse is entirely feasible.

Now fertilization... that's another issue entirely.

correct me if im wrong but isnt turian-human relationships pretty much a sure-kill for the human part? as in, they absolutely won't survive it.

however i do see what you mean kallichan! IMO (as a guy), in most games and not must ME2, the "guy" romance scenes often is a bit more graphical then the female ones, where as females get somewhat the same "up to the graphical part" content, which i feel is a shame.

but then again, i just can't imagine garrus gently lifting up femshep and carrying her to bed, but i would def. have prefered if there was some intimate snugging invovled, say they both go to bed and lay down together to rest, or something like that.

edit: I also think it's sad that there was no gay-romance in ME1 for males, but a lesbian one for females!

It makes sense to want a more romantic following. I cant say what youre experiance is on your femshep, but I think there are issues all around. Like I said earlier, the romatic persuit of miranda is almost all physical, mostly because thats all shep talks about! He begs for sex, hell I have better things to say than he does! So you gals arent alone, I feel un-romanced as well.

I agree, Garrus and Thane got a bit short changed, but we can always ask and hope for more in ME3. I would also like to see more romance interaction/dialog with whoever you choose to make it seem an ongoing thing instead of something you do once then move on.

One thing Im wondering though, as I cant remember any reference to it, since they dont kiss is the 'head bump' the turian kiss or what do they do? (There has been reference made to neck biting in the thread, but not sure if thats turian info or the posters idea)

Also while I didnt want the full on nudity groping with Garrus, I was hoping to see him unclothed from the waste up as I have always wondered if turians have big back humps or if its their fassion. Maybe we will see more Garrus/Thane scales in ME3 :P

If I'm not mistaken there isn't a lesbian romance in ME1. Yea Asari's look like women but they don't have male or female physiology as humans do. They are mono-gendered and can be the mother or father in a parenting situation.

Out of curiosity, is there even a paragon romance option for Miranda? Every other character has a paragon option, it seems (even Jack! *surprised*) but I've looked for one from Miranda and it seems like all you can do with that is bang the night away in the engine room. Talk about being screwed out of a romance.

And you want to talk about being screwed out of a romance option? We didn't even get to see Tali's face! I did that romance on accident, and then all of a sudden *bam!* mask was off. I'm sitting there going, "Cool! We actually get to see what she looks li-." And then I got shut down. Nice.

Im not going to lie, I was a bit dissapointed myself abotu the LI's in this game.. ONLY because, im a diehard forever hugs and kisses Kaiden girl, and, I made a decision at the beginning to stay faithful to Kaiden,no matter how hot anyones abs are, (lol oh jacob), so Ive been brushing off the romance attempts from EVERYONE, in hopes that when I reunited with Kaiden....

BUT NOOOOOOOO

You do get a bit of an apology after via private message, but really, SO not good enough. I mean come on BW, not even a quickie on Horizon?

I get he's an alien.. but really?  Tali could've died and she takes her mask off for male shepard, Miranda shows her breasts, and Jack gets some bed action.  Yet you gave Garrus a damn head bump?!  COME ON!!!

To be honest, when I first heard femsheps get to ride Garrus I did think it was a joke. Don't get me wrong, the inclusion of Garrus in the game was the feature that finally convinced me to pre-order, he's a great guy...

But he looks like the bastard lovechild of a Predator from the movies, and a hawk. Most turians do. He can't even eat the same food as shep. I'm no racist, but when even the most basic level of biology is different, you have to wonder if it's a good idea.

This is horrible news. Garrus is my bro, and because of this I was planning to make my 2nd Shepard (Female) to bang him... I feel like I am failing the poor guy as a friend :(

I think BioWare deliberately skimped on the love scenes for anyone you can continue to romance in ME3. They can't give you the total payoff if there's more to come. (Please don't let me down on this Bioware.) It will totally be worth the wait if I can continue Tali/Garrus romance into ME3.

For some reason I think Garrus ackwardness during the love scene basicly was because biowares writers felt the same about being ask to write a garrus romance and the whole love scene bit

LOL, I totally thought the same thing when I heard about the Garrus romance, and stumbled upon a few GarrusxFemShep fanfics, but when you actually play through it, it's really sweet, more of an emotional connection, etc.  I thought it was actually one of the better romances in ME2, so much better than the one night stands that seem available to the guys.

But still, we should have seen more of Thane and a Kaidan quickie would have been awesome, but completely out of character.

Bioware definitely is catching on to want girl gamers want, however, they've given a better emotional quality to the romances, and hot maliens, now all we need is to see more nudity/skin, and we'll be all set :)

The ladies don't get to take Garrus to bed? This is a terrible injustice that must be corrected in ME3.

Give the FemSheps of the world some raptor dick, dammit!

3 pages and no mentions of Jacob. Great.

Look at his romance scene on Youtube, he's RIPPED.

I understand the purpose, and to those who are askin if you are looking for "porn" they are apparently ignorant to the idea the Topic Author is trying to get across. While I think the romantic scenes would look better if they were more on par with the Mass Effect 1 scenes, the issue thats being attempted to get across is portraying passion.

Thats the final end game of the relationship (well in THE GAME), getting passion to be played out like in any great novel or movie, while I agree there doesnt have to be discernable nudity or sex, somthing a bit more for a game rated in such a way, not because it has nudity but because the concepts of the game are adult and to complicated for an underdeveloped mind to understand..

my 2 cents.

Yeah, but Garrus is a badass turian vigilante-merc commander-warrior-space batman with The Voice.  I like Jacob a lot, but Garrus is just awesome. :P

Thane and Jacob get perfectly fine love scenes, just like the female romances. Garrus is an exception...I mean...it would be awkward to show him kissing or something...what with his cat beak thing and Velociraptor teeth...

So they just left it more to your imagination...

Yeah, when I played Dragon Age I think Alistair was my favorite character, so much, that I actually considered making a female char to romance him, just to see more of his awesomely funny conversations. In the end that just was too damn gay and no matter how much I like him I don't really wanna see his lovin scene.

I feel for the female gamers though, since all of the female characters in ME2 were very hot. We couldn't see Tali's face, but we could tell she was smokin. The male romances on the other hand, with the exception of Jacob, were all nasty looking aliens. Blech, one is a lizard and the other has no lips and an extra jawbone on the outside of his face.

OP, you can use your imagination. At the end he was about to hold her when it faded to black. We don't need to see all the romance process to understand or imagine what will happen... Leave that to Shep and his/her romance. Just accept it, I personally (as a guy) thought the Garrus romance scene was awesome, just like Tali's.
Also, your example doesn't have anything to do with it being a boys game. All games are technically for boys, besides, girls on the internet do not exist, it is a lie and is not true anyway.

I actually think it's more of a stereotype thing. They thought men would want more sex and women would want more dialogue. Obviously, going by stereotypes is stupid but that seems like what was going on for me.

Then again, what do I know. I stuck with Kaiden, the guy who called me a traitor and left me to fend for myself on a suicide mission. I must be crazy

I've seen the Garrus love scene and I honestly don't get what the OP is complaining about. The whole scene was so completely in character for the way Garrus was acting while talking about getting involved romantically (you know, with all that curious awkwardness). And the scene isn't just a head bump. It starts with Garrus pouring you both a drink, moving around awkwardly a little while you stand there awkwardly, turning on some music, and then finally the two of you start to get close and have that intimate moment where you start leaning closer to each other and slowly put your heads together. I thought it was quite touching and in perfect line for Garrus' personality.

I have read everyones OP and i agree with everyone to some or most points, but for me I feel a little ripped off. I have to admit that i am a Kaidan girl through and through, but Thane definately started to sway me, but I finished the game still being loyal to Kaidan. So i was hell disappointed when we get a small scene with Kaidan , a quick hug before he gets all aggro on my female Sheps ass. An apology email....then zip. Also the love interests that we have in ME2 , any of my fellow female gamers noticed that we get the choice of 1 human male at a time???

But I rabble......my main point is that the guys get better romance scenes than us ladies and while we like the romance we also like a little more time invested in the scenes as well, I'm talking not talking about full on sex scene, but maybe if you decide to have a roamnce, there can be times we're they have the characters cuddling on the bed talking, geez what am i trying to say......maybe more romantic moments in between missions than just at the end.

But I'm not trying to dis anyones option, this is just MPO. I hope its not too confusing to read, cause my brain is going a mile a min...

BW better bring back Kaidan in ME3 with a really great reunion scene and he better be part of the crew this time

As a female gamer I feel they wimped out with Garrus too.  I don't expect p0rn but a little equality with what is shown in the love scenes would be nice.  It's just a little silly that after making such a leap forward with a romance with an alien that is physiologically so different that they then sweep the love scene under the carpet.  The Tali romance had more so I can't quite understand the logic.

two words:

audience

unfortunately, this game was not made to cater to females.

but hell, it's still a great game.. I'll just skip all the love scenes and stay faithful
