I completely agree with the OP, but it's sadly nothing new, the video games industry is mostly for young males, plain and simple, but the truth is often frustrating, why? Because we live in a world of lies.

Well lets not over-react here.  I thought the Kaidan romance was really nice in ME1 and the female romances in Dragon Age were good...I am looking at the male LIs for my female playthrough and none of them really make me think my femshep would pick one over him...

I think this is a weakness in this game alone lets not go nuts.  Besides she is objecting to ONE sex scene.  The one with Jacob is supposed to be pretty hot.

I am sort of perplexed a game with such powerful women in leadership positions who are badasses, not even counting Shepard herself, would be attacked for being sexist...I mean what do they have to do?

All the love scenes were toned down from the first game. I wonder was it due to the negative press ME1 got.

I never once supported the idea of the game being sexist; only the love scenes.  One in particular (as I've come to terms I am a complete Thane fan) which is Garrus. ^_^

Miranda's was certainly as steamy as Ashley's even if they didn't show anything.

Though actually in ME1 they sorta used the same scene with different heads on the bodies right?

yeah, i felt like the ME writers/devs were just pulling a prank on us when I heard Garrus/Tali dialogues about inter-species sex. immuno-boosters, antibiotics, etc...

it all seems like a good laugh for the devs who think (know) their fans are horny scifi nerds.

Hehe the Devs are ones to talk about being horny scifi nerds.  They did design the Asari after all.  Total fetish fuel.

You know Pierre and Marie Curie used to make love to the glow of radium, they found it romantic.  Too bad about the leukemia that was not so romantic.

Fortunately I think that glass around the drive core was shielded.  I think Miranda just found it romantic or something.

Alrighty!  Thank you for clearifying.

I made this post a while ago, and it's only began to show some interest here recently.  It's a bit hard to keep up with some of the posts, but I've read much of what I typed had been taken out of context.

Thank you for not doing this. ^_^

I actually consider the whole Garrus romance a huge nod to female gamers.  Most guys seem to have a major "ew" reaction to the thought of female attraction to Garrus.

I'm just intensely grateful that we didn't get stuck with another Anomen. Or Casavir.

Actually, I preferred Anomen. He actually had lines, and opinions about stuff (albeit, obnoxious high-horse opinions). All Casavir ever talked about was Old Owl Well. He was living in the past even worse than Jack was.

I wonder if weapon calibrations will eventually become as infamous as OOW, though.

Shepard isn't the kind of girl to get swooped of her legs. With her enhancements, i see it more likely that she'll be carrying Garrus...

Equality isn't 'nothing.'

You want equality? What for, you want to downgrade? At least the female options are better done than the male choices. Jacob has his abs of steel and typical determined personality, Thane has a very touching moment of self-doubt and fear that Shepard has to mitigate and Garrus might not get a kiss (how exactly do you kiss someone without freaking lips, BTW?) but the way how the badass space cowboy gets so awkward while trying to compliment Shepard is just adorable and again, the scene is quite touching.

On the other hand, you have the male options.
  • With Miranda, you get a bra and a lot of unfulfilling dry humping. No talk, no care for the moment, just get right to the deed, which would be fine if the damned thing wasn't so laughable with two adults rubbing each other in extasy while fully clothed  .
  • Then you have Jack, which has not just one, but TWO unfulfilling
sessions of clothed dry humping. Again, no touching moments, no
character development, just Jack going wild over Shepard leaning over
    her.
  • Kelly Chambers is easy to abridge: she says
that she wants some private time with Shepard, you both walk in the
direction of the elevator, fade to black and then you're back in the
Control Room. The only good thing in the middle of it all is that at
least you've got someone to feed your fishes for you [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wondering.png[/smilie].
  • Morinth kills you. Do I even need to comment on that?
  • And finally, Tali, the only female that
has a salvageable love scene. She's awkward, she's unsure, she's afraid of what might happen,
but she cares about Shepard and he has to make her feel accepted when
he finally removes her mask and they kiss.
That was all we needed, a good, fulfilling moment that seals your relationship with a love interesst. You didn't need to waste your time trying to give us a sex scene when just some dialog and a warm embrace would be enough. Now I'm not saying that sex has no place here, because it does, but you have to make it count for something. If you want to give us a sex scene then give us a sex scene, you don't need to be explicit or graphic to make it work, as we could see in ME1. And if you can't, that's fine, just give us a nice, touching moment that will make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

But just stop giving us adults rubbing each other with their clothes on. Seriously, it's embarassing.

I get the feeling the devs felt distinctly uncomfortable with the idea of a Garrus romance.  Don't ask me why, just a wierd vibe of mine.

Considering the turian concept art this shouldn't be a surprise... i mean, it kind of spells "uncomfortable" in like dozen different ways Image IPB

You do have sex with him. You just don't see it. If you want a strip tease then you should of picked Jacob.

Tali fans didn't even see Talis face in this, too.

hmmm Thane should have slept with no ones Shepard after the way he reminices about his dead wife. I had mass respect for my fav drell assassin until i saw the youtube vids of him getting it on with a terminator FemShep.

On topic, as a male who will never play as a female character and has to go to youtube to see, I think the Tali and Garrus scenes respectivly are the best 2 LI scenes. I would have put Thane in that if he hadn't mentioned his own personal love story which was touching in its own right

I agree. This is disastrously a boys game and a major disappointment from ME1. Ashley and Tali were confident females, they didn't need to show flesh to be such. Liara wasn't so confident but she still didn't stoop to wearing low necks and high heels. Every strong female we meet in ME2 however has fake boobs, low necklines and high heels. It is very insulting coming from the first installment.

My favorite character in the game now is that Mercenary that says, "I was just waiting for you to get dressed. Cereberus really lets you **** around in that?" To Miranda. :P
