I have one of the original ME1 initial retail discs with SecuROM malware infecting it.
I remember reading somewhere at some point that SecuROM was patched out of ME1.
However, if I install from my ME1 disc, it will infect my machine during the initial install, as I understand it.
Is there a way of getting the game onto my machine and then installing any patches without infecting my machine with SecuROM?
Installing ME1 without SecuROM's malware?

If you live in Canada you can obtain the software from anywhere you like. So long as you can prove you own the license (CD Key, steam, whatever). The method of how you deliver the content to your hard drive is irreverent.
From what I understand of most international law they could care less as well so long as we're not speaking about music
Edit: I decided my post could be misconstrued as pirating, and it's not meant to be. This is a legal grey area but I wouldn't risk installing TAGES or Secur-rom on any computer. Their poorly written maulware that's easier to circumvent then a procelin lock

Unfortunately, I do not live in Canadialand. Any other options?

SecuROM was not patched out of ME1. The activation limit was raised ti 5 from the original 3, and a deactivation tool was released. But the retail game still has SecuROM.
