 Just got ME2, excited to play, all goes fine install goes fine (minus the AWC.dll error which i've sorted) I start playing get through the beginning bit (when the ship crashes) without a hitch, no lag, no sound problems, nothing.

I get into the facility (after the ship) and start running around and at the second fight with the mechs suddenly my entire computer locks up, the screen goes all blotchy, sound gets messed up, its hard to describe, but the entire computer just dies. I rebooted, started the game again, it dies again.

My computer easily meets the requirements so i highly doubt it's that..but its pretty much unplayable, i can't go 5 minutes without my computer crashing.

Please help? Anyone?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ (3Ghz)
GeForce GT240 (1GB)
4Gb RAM

EDIT: I'm using the digital distribution from GamersGate, if that changes anything.

We read these threads, however...

1) it's primarily self-help

2) is it possible to provide commonality between the reported crashes on this thread? we can only investigate issues which dont appear (on the surface) to be limited to specific machines or specific hardware configurations. if an issue affects a large number of machines (due to an apparent problem) - we can (and will) look into it. in short, if the crashes are occuring at seemingly random times for different people on different hardware configurations - we have no specific place to start investigating.
