I have changed the video settings (Anisotropic Filtering 4x, Number of C.L. 2). Now I could play for 30 minutes and then it crashed again. First I had everything to maximum and it crashed every 5 minutes. But my PC is new and normally it should be possible for me to play the game with maximum details.



I also do not believe it is a heating problem. We really need a Patch!

I agree, we seriously need a patch.  This is beyond frustrating.

i dont know im playing on max settings for 19h straight no crashes a lil bugs here and ther but no crashes

Having the same problem here. Was fine up until the Archangel mission, and now it keeps crashing. Not heat related - I've monitored my temps, and it only hits about 56deg's. Folding@home gpu client takes my card to over 70 with no issues at all.

I had the same problem.. Crashing after 5 mins of gameplay. I decided to run it in Windowed mode and the game is rock solid stable now. Give it a shot. Can't hurt right?

tried it but it only lasted a few minuets more than before

I have the same problem! I made a thread about it, not seeing this one (Oops) I crash in Afterlife in Omega, and also in the menu after around 5 minutes. God I thought it was my computer going wonky.

has anyone tried just being in menu for about 5 minutes or more to check if you crash? It also crashes for me there, a loud buzzing sound comes from my speakers and the entire screen freezes

I hope this thread dosnt get lost by Bioware, it would be nice to know they are looking into it atleast.. I paid alot of money to get this game, and now I cant play it since it crashes after a few minutes into the game.

My game has crashed several times as well.....It has only happened in combat though and there is nothing that looks out of the ordinary before it happens and there are no strange audio sounds or anything else ..... The game just feeezes and then I get a mssg from Windows saying ME2 has stopped working and it is checking for a solution...that is it...... It has happened in the slum area of Omega and was really aggrevating when it happened in the Archangel quest as soon as I began to fight the huge Mech..... I just quit an went to bed after that,,,,,This is getting a little aggrevating now.

i have a crashing problem as well, at first my game would crash and compuer would freeze at the same spot over and over again so i reinstalled and i was able to get past it but now ive hit the rror again at a different spot and this time re installing doesnt work, my screen goes white and i get an error that mass effect 2 has stopped working but its not random like above its alaways at the same spot in the game.

Has anyone who has experienced this problems tried just being in on the main menu for like 5+ minutes and check if you freeze up? My computer freezes up with a loud buzzing sound from the speakers even if I idle in the main menu.

What I just found out is that my crashing problem went away when I went into windowed mode

I hope Bioware peeks in. This seems to be beyond hardware issue, since the game works fine(no crashing) when it's in window mode.



This seems like a thing that should be patched ASAP, considering it crashes the entire computer. Does anyone know how to DL the patch anyway if one comes out? It isnt like steam where it automaticly downloads

seriously EA drives me insane their customer support is horrible, ive sent them 3 emails with no response and tried their online chat and when i wait the designated time the chat drops, i called them and they said the couldnt solve the problem so their going to have the tech lvl 2 guys call me back at 4pm they called an hour late and my phone rang once and they hung up b4 i could answer im callling them back now but i have a 30 min wait on hold...

wow...EA is just annoying me now their customer support is horrible, ive sent them 4 emails and each one get a computer generated respopns that is irrelivent to the question, ontop of that i tired using their online chat and i wait theought the 30 min que only to be told that there r no agents left, when i called they said they couldnt fix the problem so their tech support lvl 2 will call me at 4 they ended up calling me at 5 my phone rang once and they hung upi didnt even have time to pick up, so im callign them back now but im on a 30 min hold.

I'm having the issue too. Really irritating cause I have everyone's loyalty except for 3 characters and now this thing is happening.

Have you guys tried using window mode? Also, can you check if you crash from main menu after like 5-10 minutes? Just leave it on the main menu and do something and see if it freezes up when you come back.

I crash every 5 to 10 minutes. My computer completely locks up, and the screen goes blank. I was able to play ME1 fine on it, and I play many other games with no problems. I have two 8800 GTs in SLI, and I've tried it disabling sli and physx, windows mode, full screen, with and without anti-aliasing. Nothing has resolved the problem yet.

i only play my games in windowed mode still crashes
