Yes and yes. Go to Illium and an Asari standing by a wall will call out to you, talk to her. It's very relevant. And you'll likely feel vindicated.

I have a feeling we will be seeing the rachni queen play a big part in ME3.



Also your proven that the rachni had been tampered with that why they went nuts.

On Omega, there is some news chatter about someone seeing unknown vessels that match old rachni scout ships....

it does kinda suck that it defaults into the rachni being dead.  truthfully im replaying ME1 on PC just for that...i could care less about who lives or dies i just want the rachni alive. a little weird but something about those little guys touched me.

I don't mind that it defaults to it, since it really gave you a reward for playing through the first one. Even though playing Mass Effect 2 without the Mass Effect 1 decisions is still very much enjoyable.
