Could not redeem my promo code last night, and trying to register was told my game key was not valid.

Tried again this morning and both worked fine.  Not sure if this was just timing, but more likely I typed in both codes using *lower case letters* despite taking care last night to type them exactly as printed using upper case.

So if your codes are being rejected, and you are typing upper case, try again using lower.  If this makes a difference, please post back here so we know that is a real issue, and can ping bioware.  It should be fairly easy to correct a server-side process to accept both, unlike an already installed game.

Nnnnnope. I tried it with upper and lower case, and also with the spaces where they were on the sticker.

EDIT: I may be confusing the game activation ode and the Cerberus Network activation code. My edition didn't have the latter.
