ME1 is there and the saves are fine.. or at least accessable from ME1, but they don't show in the import screen.

Nothing shows on the screen at all, just a blank window.

Any ideas why not?

any answers for this?.. I don't want to start the game til I get my char imported.

when you start the game dont press play but go to configurations and you can manually import your saves
(edit :sorry maybe button is called options im not sure im reinstalling so can't check)

Thank you for replying.. I didn't bother with looking at the config option.. I just left it til I got in game to change options :/.

My problem with this is I can't import my savegames from EAs Digital Download version of ME1 but have no problem importing a save downloaded off the 'net!

I know nothing at all about digital versions of games.. mainly because I don't buy them as they come with there own set of unique problems as an addition. :/

have you tried looking here via the configuration savegame menu thingy? C:\\Users\\[User Name]\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect\\Save

Sort of found the problem, now I need a 'proper' endgame save not the saves before the 'cutscence'

Found the problem, either there's an issue saving or I got 'ESC' happy when the credits roll!
