I don't think the bug or whatever problem it is comes from ME2 but from ME1.

How many of us have heard inside an elevator that Conrad Verner was shot after picking a fight in a bar even after the player convinces him to go home?

How many of us have heard inside an elevator that an operation to stop a biotic extremist attack on a Sirta Foundation facility ended in a "bloody massacre", even when the player managed to save ALL the scientists?

Looks like ME1 did not write the right outcomes for some assignments in the savegame file, and ME2 is just doing its job reading that wrong information.

I wonder what the testers do at bioware not to notice this.

Or what tech guys do to not fix that issue in ME1 still after all this time

I just hope that bug didn't make its way in ME2 also..... Next thing you know in ME3 your male Shepard will receive an email from Jacob thanking him for the night they spent together...

Noticed the same bugs:

- Consort / Sirtha foundation / Conrad

the other Decisions (Fist, Helena Blake...) are correct

maybe the Savegames are different if you have DLC in ME1 (had Terra Nova & Pinnacle Station)

Why not solve this problem like the decision with Anderson/Udina? Just 10 Questions and ready :-)

I also have the same problem with the Consort/Conrad and the Sirta foundation (I haven't noticed Fist, and I convinced Helena Blake to change her ways)

Well, I did pull my gun out in front of Conrad, so he could take a picture. Given his...less than stellar mental state, maybe he was thinking of that.

The Sirta Foundation and Shai'ra ones are really annoying.

I didn't have the problem with Fist though. I always let him live, but let Wrex kill him. It kills him, and lets me keep my Paragon points, so I'm happy with that solution. But Fist never showed up for me in ME2.

I agree, I've been trying to link things back to this thread at least, but it's smart to link the other topics here so everyone who has had one or more of these problems is accounted for instead of being swallowed up by the forum.

I'm pretty sure it's Bioware "forgetting" things rather than savegames not being imported correctly. I'd bet that all those 'bugs' are actually indications of missing content. The "proper" outcomes for those ME1 decisions simply aren't in the ME2 game files for whatever reason.

UNC: Hostile Takeover (Helena Blake) - Not bugged; she is either not present in ME2 (by default) or is found on Omega either working for Aria or as a social worker. I tested all three options there.

Noveria (Gianna Parasini) - Doesn't seem bugged to me; when I betrayed her, she wasn't present on Illium (default), but when I gave the evidence to her she's there and reminds me about the beer she owed me.

UNC: Besieged Base (Sirta Foundation) - Doesn't seem to be a bug in ME2, as it doesn't appear to be something that's imported from a ME1 save game. It's still an ME1 bug, though. Perhaps the ME2 referrence is a homage to that?

UNC: Dead Scientists (Corporal Toombs) - Doesn't seem to be bugged; when Toombs survives, I get his threatening e-mail, if not (by default) it's just a news report about Cerberus.

Citadel: Asari Consort (Sha'ira) - Doesn't feel like a bug to me; if I met her and completed her quest in ME1, I get an e-mail from her, if not (by default) I don't. Either way, she's leaving the Citadel.

Citadel: The Fan (Conrad Verner) - Seems to be an ME1 bug; no matter what I do, my ME1 import game is flagged as having intimidated him (assuming he's present on Illium at all, by default he's dead). This can be fixed in ME2 by importing your ME1 save into ME2 and, after Freedom's Progress (to be safe) using the Gibbed Save Game Editor to uncheck the intimidated flag, mark the end game state as LivedToFightAgain, and then starting a new game importing this ME2 save.

Conrad Verner - convinced to go home to his family in ME1, in ME2 Conrad says that I pulled a gun in his face (If I would have done that in ME1, Conrad would be killed by group of turians in ME1.)
Sha'ira - helped with Septimus and the Elcor in ME - The Consort leaving in ME2 anyway...
Sirta Foundation - saved all scientists in ME1 - Sirta Foundation closing in ME2 because of "massacre"

No problem with Corporal Toombs or Gianna Parasini, they both lived in ME1.

EDIT: don't see Zero9ee post before posting mine, Zero9ee gives some light to these "bugs".

Interesting, Zero9ee. Thanks for posting those findings, I had figured it was ME1 to blame with at least some of these problems. Though it makes me wonder where things went wrong for those who did have problems with Helena or Toombs or Fist or Parasini ect. I'm a little loath to believe that Bioware would pay "homage" to a bugged news report, but if it doesn't seem to be imported...

I wonder if we could get a BioWare voice to sound off on this topic. Should we just accept the bugs and expect all to be well in ME3? Are we missing nifty content? Will it ever be fixed? Inquiring salarians want to know! :)

At the end of ME 1,  I saved the council members, yet when I imported my saved games into ME 2, I was told I let the Citadel coucil members die, questioning my loyalty to the Citadel and alien races. Did anyone else run into this?

Wait a minute, are you saying you can confirm there's an alternate Conrad encounter that properly responds to your having done the Paragon persuade with him in ME1?

If so, that definitely sounds like a bug in ME2 and not 1. I would think they'd have noticed a consistent ME1 bug during development.

+1 for Conrad. I know I didn't pull a gun on him because I'm using my do-gooder Shep that always did the right thing tacking the high path... except when I knocked out Manuel... just can't help it.

This will probably require patching ME1 or distributing a save fix tool. Both seem fairly easy, and both seem highly unlikely. I really doubt that they will patch ME1 again, and Bioware has been extremely guarded about modifying this game in anyway so I don't see them releasing anything that could essentially hack a file.

Let's add another name to the list. I must say I was rather baffled as to why Conrad was talking about a gun in his face, and why Sirta was going belly-up since I saved all of their scientists...

Just tried editing the save file so my import definetly had a paragon response to Conrad. Still get same "gun in face" response so not sure if there is another response coded in the game.

the cahnges you do in savefiles int the ME1 Plot Table won't affect your current playthrough since all those plot flags and values are imported at the start of a new carrer and are converted into the ME2 plot table ... they will only have an effect if you cahnge them in a completed game (after you've beaten the bad guys) and then imporst that save game to start over again.

One more entry in the list:
At the end
of Mass Effect 1, in my Paragon run, I stated no opinion regarding who
should represent humanity in the Council, saying that that was not
Sheppard's choice to make. However, when doing the recap in Mass Effect
2, I was only given two possible answers: either Anderson or the
ambassador (plus "This stops here").

This decision is not saved in the End game State of an ME1 game ... dunno why though ... but you must decide who is the new councilor (sp?)  somehow, that is why it's in the recap.

Any chance this newest patch fixes the conrad bug? Its not listed as one of the fixes but there may be a chance. Man Bioware makes some great games but their customer service sucks ass.

The sirta thing isn't a bug. If you saved ALL the scientists, the news reports say the scientists went berserk when Alliance Soldiers arrived, so there is a slaughter either way.
