Probably to try and stear you down the dedicated path, I've heard that infidelity will be an issue in ME3 if you screw around.

Yeah, I knew infidelity would be an issue in ME 3 but I don't care. Ash was a **** when I met her on horizon so I didn't really feel bad...until I saw the picture. If I would've seen it before, I may not have done it. But, what's done is done.
Brilliant thing for Bioware to do, all the LI's are cold to you when you meet them in thier cameo...so you want to cheat.

Yea, I was pissed at how at that point it seemed like everything in the first game was irrelevant. I did end up cheating. With Miranda of all people.
The picture got knocked over. Heh.... personally I don't care. Ash had her chance at this point.

A reunion with your ME1 LI is expected. And hey, she won't be happy if you cheated on her/him. Maybe you'll have to rebuild the relationship from scratch. Maybe you can't engage a romantic relationship with her/him again.
That's it.
Cheating on Jack on the other hand will end in a bloodbath.
Man, I hope she shows up for some serious impact in ME3. (I know, I know, she can die, but let's assume that ME3 default Shepard will have her alive, so they can build upon her character
Anyways, I'd like to hear Mordin's thoughts about the matter.

*** other romance spoilers***
I personally think: Tali will get sick and die if you slept with her; I think Jack is going to go bat-sh*t no matter what you did because her head was already so messed up -so she'll be mad at you for 'using" her like everyone else she's ever known, or she'll be mad you didn't return her affection; Miranda's going to get pregnant; Thane's dying no matter what from his disease so you'll be mourning him no matter what; human DNA is toxic if ingested by Turians according to the groundskeeper at the Citadel so if you did the deed with him you might have killed him too; and I haven't figured out the drama Jacob would provide yet

How can infedelity be an issue when you clearly broke up with the me1 LI?
I don't think it's as much an issue of "cheating" or "infidelity" but there is just nothing else to call it. I suppose technically you "broke up" but none of it is cut and dry or black or white.
So in ME3 it will probably be more of an issue of re-romancing the ME1 love interests, which might be more difficult if you still have strings attached to an ME2 love interest. I don't see it being an anger issue or a "YOU CHEATED!" issue. I see it more as being a feeling it out and determine if it's what both people still really want issue.
In short I imagine some sort of "consequences" regarding sleeping with someone else. But I don't know that those consequences necessarily involve Ash getting all pissed at you for example.
Not a problem for me since I'm sticking with Ash no matter what.

All three love interests leave much room for a lot of juicy story in the future.

Redo the second quest, to eliminate the "observer," then ask her where the anger comes from. It all comes gushing out and you realize that devotion like that doesn't come along often.

Also, is BioWare setting us up for the most epic catfight of all time?
(Coming from a female) Oh, God but I hope so! Bring on the drama.

How about a biotic free for all. From one of my Fem Shep's point of view, I'll probably go with Jacob and bid Kaidan goodbye. I like Jacob and if the two Biotic boy toys
I like the photo on the desk. My first Shep sacrificed Kaidan so had no picture and then I brought a different one over and there he was.
