I'm not complaining, but I guess all that voice work really makes for a huge game... or the game truly is an EPIC in scope

Indeed, it is big. I'm just glad I won't have to install it. I've had games smaller than the character creator.

I'm going to guess all the VO and lines of dialog that David, Sheryl and Mary were writing are at fault here.
Some credit goes to the texture artists for an incredible job. I can see the pores (illusion of) on the skin of the characters.

Sinking money into a really big hard-drive seems less fantastical now, eh?
And yes, massive dialogue likely didn't help matters with the GB. I wonder how much is code and how much is graphics..

Code doesnt take up that much space at all, more like how much is graphics and how much is sound.

20 gigs - quite a big game. Well, Bioware working so hard on this, so i'm sure that all 20 gigs will be awesome.

Lets hope it is a little less for the 360, I am defiantly going to install it to my hardrive, I just might not have enough room.

It is big... But is it strong? (I hope someone will get the reference... If not, I'll have to come back and explain it)

Lol no idea mate, sorry.
I just hope the adventure is a fairly grand one - I blasted through Mass Effect much too quickly and I thought I was taking my time. But you can't sell EPIC if it isn't. Considering how long this game has been in development [and the fact that it's from BioWare], I'm sure it's worth every byte.

Just another reason why I'm glad I'm not getting the download edition.

If this is 20GB on the Xbox 360 version, i'l have enough anyway. I'l probably install it to the hard-drive to run better. Any information whether the 360 version will need more than 1 disc or how much memory you will need?

The Console version is not 20GB. Only Bluray can have that amount of info on a disc. Bluray can handle 25GB to 50 GB Dual layered. Where a DVD 9 (what the disc will be on for 360) Can hold up to 15 GB. THats where the magic of compression comes in.Flamezdude wrote...

Also with the last patch the Installation doesn't copy the entire game just the core parts.

Note, 20GB is only the Game. All RPG's like this have save files that grow the further you get in the game, it has to track and remember everything you've already done and seen. My Witcher save folder was 800MB when all was done. Fallout 3 was smaller (about 300MB) but I didn't get to the end.

What really impresses me is that theyve managed to fit it all on a 360 disc... Come to think of it, have they confirmed its only 1 disc?

20 GB is pretty big, but that's the way things are going now. You want fancy graphics and good sound, it's going to need lots of room. Thankfully, larger hard drives are getting pretty cheap/standard.
I have plenty of room on my computer for DA:O; it's my RAM and graphics card that are lacking. Oh well. Off to the Xbox I go, for now.

I just freed up 100gigs on my hardrive to be safe
That should be enough for a bunch of mods too (I hope) Worse comes to worse I have a 700g external I hardly use.

It is indeed monolithic in size, the closest thing I have to 20gb is Supreme Commander at 18.3GB. Imagine how big it will be with the two years worth of DLC!
