The Warrior's threaten ability is a sustained ability with a 15 second cooldown. Does this mean that in order to keep it active all the time, that I have to mash it every 15 seconds? Or will it stay active once turned on?
Also, when I activate this ability while the game is paused, it uses the cooldown (the hotkey goes dark and will not let me reuse it for 15s) but it seems like it is not using the ability. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

You only have to click it once to turn it on. Sustained means that it'll stay on until you turn it off or die. It goes on cooldown when you turn it off.

There are many abilities that require an "upkeep" and warriors have several. Essentially, this is a toggle ability that has an X stamina upkeep. The upkeep cost is not a constant drain, instead it's like lowering your max stamina by that amount.
So if you activate threaten + shieldwall and your max stamina is 200. Your stamina would then be around 110 (these are just rough numbers).

Great, thanks for the info. Sounds like I was toggling it on/off during my fights last night. That explains a lot.

Anyone else had problems with that abitility not working ?
I tried activating it in a fight and even tho my tank kept hitting ennemies didn't get they're attention at all...

Could've been that some of your other party members had higher armor or something.

Or one of your party members cast a Hex, which apparently counts as a super-Taunt.

As the poster above stated, Aggro is determined by a lot of factors. Who has the highest armor, who does the most damage, and who has the most threat abilities.
Aggro in this game is a lot like a lot of MMOs. Throw your tank at your enemies and let him tank alone for a couple seconds with threaten up. Then, right before you send your other guys in, pop off a taunt (AoE massive threat generator) If your guy has a good sword (axe, mace, whatever) and massive armor, you'll be hard pressed to pull aggro off of him unless you're just bound and determined to do so.
Threaten is a good aggro generator, but it's not a snap taunt. It's a threat over time ability.

Bear in mind also that the shield talents which reduce flanking, and Heroism, which gives bonuses for fighting multiple enemies, make the "MMO-style main tank" that much more appealing. You can also drop AOEs on the whole fight; in fact you'd be crazy not to do so up to Normal difficulty, where Blizzard friendly fire is fairly negligible.

Personally I've found that the stamina is better spent on Taunt spamming than upkeep of this ability. It just doesn't seem to do anything.
