 My main character suffers from a weakness spell. I don't know how this could happen, but it is permanent now. Not even cleanse area ends it. The attack and defense penalty isn't nice. Is this common, is there a solution? I guess dying would solve it, but that's nothing I'd like to do

Try spending the night in camp

Glyph of neutralization might cancel it out. Sometimes I get stuck with that on one of my party members and I can't cast magic on them. Casting the glyph again seems to remove it.

Given that it's a glitch, maybe try dying to see if that clears it, and restore from save and hope it's still gone. Doubt it...but stranger things have happened.
