There has been a lot of handwringing over the ammo system.  For the most part, however, I find it to be a nonissue.  Anytime you reach a save point, you refill.  I have never felt that I am seriously constrained for ammo.

Medigel, on the other hand, is a completely different beast.  It appears that this stuff is just as rare heavy weapon ammo; in the case of Horizon, even rarer.  On the mission before Horizon, I brought the wrong team mates and they kept getting killed despite putting them in cover.  Instead of reloading, I burnt through medigel a lot, thinking I would just restock on the Normandy.  Silly me.  Now I am on Horizon with one Unity option against the boss.

Is anyone on the harder difficulties noticing the problems with having enough Medigel?  Or are you all just reloading if someone goes down?

Yeah I find I need Medi-gel more often than ammo, but thats because I use my squadmates to take fire off of me. Sometimes you have to really have to line up the position just right out they just stand in gunfire the entire time.

i like the reloading system, and i never had problems with medigel. I invested alot into the capassity of how much i can hold, and right now i can hold 8 medigel and never had a problem

Honestly, I find so much medigel that I don't know what to do with it all - most of the time I just get the 100 credit reward that you get when you're already full.

My issue is that I cannot "stock up" before a mission. If you burn it on one mission, and need it on the next, you have to go hunting a bunch of side missions to find more.

It gets MUCH better as you research and upgrade Medi-Gel cap.

I'm usually at the Max-Cap all the time, so when i open Medi-Kits i just get Credits instead! :)

Im having TOO much!

But i felt just like you in the beginning, it gets much better later! :)

I wish the sniper rifle could hold ten more rounds

medigel hasn't been a problem yet. I am worried for when things get a little tougher. Jacob has been getting himself killed pretty consistently right now, and medigel is running tight

yes I have a feeling a good portion of these problems won't be problems later on

Amen to the sniper rifle ammo. It's the only thing I have issues with. As for medigel, I haven't had too many issues. It seems somewhat scarce to me now because I'm playing on hardcore to start with and my teammates like to die consistently. In most cases I just finish the fight solo and let them get back up on their own.

actually it's kinda nice not having enough medigel because if you run out of it before the end of the mission, like with the boss on horizon, you know you either messed up this play or you suck at tactics and issuing orders to your teammates in general. However, those timed mission are quite something else on hardcore or insanity...

i know why, coz you are playing on normal, when i am playing on hardcore medigel is really useful.

I honestly leave them dead for as long as I possibly can. If I absolutely can't kill the remaining mobs by retreating and giving ground then I'll eventually use a medi gel. I'd rather have the 100 credits.

I haven't had any issues, my squadies don't seem to die all that often. I just let them follow me around and do pretty much whatever they want. 1st playthrough was on hardcore, been playing on insanity lately.

This. I really hope that in ME3 at the start of a mission you begin with full HW ammo and medigel. When you begun a mission with 2 grenades in ME1 it felt awkward and it feels even more awkward in ME2 - you have an advanced warship that can fabricate any gun but not medigel?

I have way more medigel than I need. Perhaps on insanity or hardcore there might not be enough, but on normal/vet the stuff overflows.

Yep, that's what I do. Especially when they just run out from behind cover and get killed in the open. If you rez them then they'll just die again.  Or if I feel I'm in imminent danger.

I went through my last run on insanity without ever using medigel. I used grunt and legion, both of which can take a hell of a lot of damage before they go down.

For most cases, I did not need medi-gel much.
There were some "special" (quotes because these are either silly or difficult points in the game) cases such as they just keep trying to shoot something and die for it, or get ripped apart by double scions while getting murdered by husks... I was really hurting for medi-gel there.
