I have the digital deluxe version of the game which I brought through STEAM.  I was able to register and download the content just fine, but when I got to install it I get the following error message: "Mass Effect 2 does not appear to be installed.  Please install the game and try again."

The game is in fact installed as I have been playing it.  Being I bought and downloaded the game through steam is there some special way I need to install the content, or maybe do I need a special version of the content?  The only thing I can think of that I do differently is that I DO NOT install games on my main drive.  My main drive is reserved for OS and vital programs ONLY.  Games go on my D: drive.  So the STEAM Client, and thus all the games I purchase through it are installed on my D: drive.  This shouldn't make difference, unless the downloads were made to search out for Mass Effect 2 or the STEAM client on the main C: drive or something; but I wouldn't imagine it would be programmed that way for instances like this.

Any help you can provide as to why the downloads don't see my Mass Effect 2 install would be much appreciated.

This is an issue with steam. Basically the solution is to run the game ONCE before isntallign the dlc.

Why? Because steam doesnt make its game registry entries until you run it the first time. Please pass this info on to whoever.

Can one of you post this over in the steam forum?
