Is there a way to know if your rogue has backstabbed somebody?? Usually, if a character in your party uses a skill (Like shield bash) you see floating text when they execute the move. With rogues, there isn't a specific "Backstab" skill that you can select, and it just seems like it would happen if you're rogue is positioned behind a target and attacks.
Or maybe I'm missing something?

Backstab is a special critical attack bonus to rogues when they stand behind their target.
It shows up just like a critical attack would.

Backstabs happen automatically when a Rogue is behind an enemy (uses a different attack animation)

If a rogue archer is behind a target, can he back-snipe? Or are backstab bonuses melee only?

they are based on the black markers within the enemy target ring too. You can make that wider with skills so you dont have to be as far around to gain the dmg bonus.
