Had YLOD and my PS3's motherboard had to be replaced. I've lost my Dragon Age saves, even though I DO have a backup copy of everything on a hard drive. I was aiming for a Platinun trophy!

Yes, I like the game and I COULD play everything again, but I'm not. To put it simply, I want my "old" wardens back! I put a lot of work into them.

As a result, I'm not buying any of the new expansions, since I don't have a character to play with.

Damn.

Just bumping this as its really starting to hurt!

bioware get off your backsides and do something about it. its not that difficult.

I am having to delete completed games so as to play some of the new DLC.

Its a ridiculous state of affairs for a so called major Developer of RPG's.

I'mma huge fan of creating characters, and had one of each origin (as well as 2 for mages and 3 for Gray Wardens), but had to delete most of them just so I could play Leliana's Song and take my main trough Awakening and the DLCs.

Incredibly annoying. If the saves weren't locked, I at the very least could have saved them somewhere else before deleting them. Bloody character limit...

So yeah, I'd prance around in joy if the saves were unlocked. Before DA2 preferably.

Ability to backup saves is critical.  My PS3 was stolen.  Luckily I had a recent backup to restore to my new PS3.  Extremely dissapointed that DAO did not restore.  I will not spend my money on Dragon Age II if it does not support backup of game save data.

/signed. Most games have unlocked saves, and no issues, not sure why DA:O doesn't, but it meant I lost my first playthrough after a YLOD, and now can't shift my saves over to the new PS3 I'm doing most of my gaming on.

My PS3 just got YLOD so I have now lost all of my Dragon Age Saves. I had over 100 hours in Origins on one of my saves and I don't know how many in my other Origin saves but now its all gone. I also was just about to beat Awakening, I was like on the last level but now that save is gone as well. It's a shame I have already bought so much of the DLC for this game because if I had known this would happen I would have never spent my money and until Bioware unlocks these saves I will never purchase any of the remaining DLC for this game or any of their other games. I will also NOT be purchasing Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age 2 because of this. I am very pissed off and until Bioware unlocks their saves they have lost a customer and supporter.

Gonna be picking up a PS3 slim by time DA2 comes out. I have a perfect save on my PS3 fat, which I will not be able to import... Already lost a perfect save on ME2 when my 360 fat died and I got a slim...

I couldn't agree more with all the posters above. A couple of days ago my PS3 crashed and not having the opportunity to easily transfer my saves to a new PS3 / bigger HDD not only frustrates me - it also takes me to a level where I question buying more of this game and it's expansions; if I play it on my PC I can have this fixed easily (even in some not-so-legal-ways).

Bioware / EA - ask yourself what the consumer wants to do when a lot of "work" and enjoyment goes in to a game where you cannot be sure that it's actually backed up - and the developer of the game doesn't care a bit about this fact.

As a consumer, I will seriously be cutting back on my purchases of new games until this type of trend is adjusted.

Batman AA patched the saves to unlock. Considering that show of goodwill, I will pre order Batman AC day 1.

I own 2 PS3's. One in my living room and one in my bedroom. I only play DA on one of them because of this. I should be able to transfer my saved games to my second PS3. This is just wrong. Last Bioware game I buy!

I shouldn't need to buy an external hard-drive just to back up Dragon Ages saves, please unlock them.

I was able to transfer the saved file however, it is not just DA files that transferred but all of my saved data on the PS3. Didn't like doing it but wanted to see how it works and I can transfer the files but it is not just DAO but all of my saved data.

I bought a slim ps3 to replace my fat ps3 thinking I would just be able to copy my saves over and start new but then when i tried to copy my dragon age saves over I couldn't so thats over 100 hours wasted. Sony keeps advertising and trying to get people to switch over to slims but then they are also it seems starting to lock more saves. So what do they expect people to do? This isn't right Please Fix!

If you have a jump drive, you can take that and plug it into you Ps3 in your saved game data folder it will show it as plugged in, after that copy you saves onto the drive and move them into a computer folder, for safe keeping, and you can copy them onto you other Ps3. i havnt found a game that you cant do this with, not sure if dragon ages has a special patch that stops this.

After beating Origins, I wanted to look at Awakening, so I imported my character. Now, I've no saves at all, so I can't revisit Origins and check out the other endings etc. Is it really that difficult to code separate folders for each game?? Very unhappy about this Bioware

I played 80+ hours of Dragon Age and my PS3 died. This is unfair that we cannot backup our saves...either let us backup saves or provide an online server that does. I'm not buying dragon age II until this is fixed.

Sorry, but just because you say "signed", it doesn't make your request any more or less valid. Online petitions rarely work, and our forums are not the place for them. Sorry.
