Anyone know how to edit the Mattok's ini file to make it automatic like the Avenger Assault Rifle?
Here's what I've done so far, though the game doesn't recognise bIsAutomatic setting and it reverts to default burst settings if I take the block out (which is shown in the paste) http://pastebin.com/wPH6yMy8
I think there should also be a DLC part of the program too. That would be useful.
Update: Nevermind, I set the BurstRounds to -1 in the BioWeapon SFXGame.SFXWeapon which did what I wanted but other weapons work as they should.
tried unlocking the Revenant for every assault rifle-using squaddie, but the editor automatically resets the altered line of code to its original state whenever i click rebuild. is that normal?
Probably mentioned before but does anyone know exactly how to give yourself non-standard weapons? Like this:
Also, I've been unable to get the firing rate of the Cain to change. I tried changing RateofFire from 30 to 70 then to 120 with no results.
I encountered the same issue. What I discovered is that if you CONTINUE TO HOLD the fire button down, you will find your ROF *HAS* increased! I must warn you, save before you try it - you'll want to edit the accuracy and scatter to 0.0 to save yourself from the proximity suicide that you'll more than likely incur if you don't, but from my own personal observations, continuing to hold down the stream of mini-nukes once the first one has detonated (resulting in the reality bending, time-warping blast) is usually more than overkill.
The reason it SEEMS that the Rate of Fire is unchanged is because, regardless of any mod you apply to it, there's no line of code that allows you to accelerate the "Charge Up" animation sequence. It's only the dispensation of the projectiles themselves that's altered.
Something I've had tremendous fun with is enabling unlimited ammo, and upping the ROF on everything to match the SMG. When a single press of the mouse button will let off (an average of) 3 missiles, and you continue to hold the fire button ... wow ... you never have to get out from cover, just point up and shoot till the missiles scatter harmlessly into the sky - you know how they say that if you fire one, it'll hit a target, even if it's not the one you intended.
Well, it'll continue to look for targets till there's none left!! Best way to tell if a zone is clear!
For Iron Spine (and any others who may know)
One thing that continues to stymie me is modding of DLC equipment (weapons specifically.) I van get the unlimited ammo going, as that's a Universal Game Mechanic. But editing the ROF, accuracy, etc of the DLC equipment hasn't presented itself to me. I'm more than willing to admit I've overlooked something, but I don't know what it is I've overlooked (obviously!) One thing I haven't tried is re-decompiling the Coalesced.ini following the DLC install. Would it contain the information for the new weapons? Or is that code stored elsewhere?

@cyrus: What do you want to do/mod/change? It's difficult to give a general introduction to modding coalesced.ini, but a specific question can be handled much easier :-) The 1st page of this thread or this should give you enough info to get the editor up and running. A lot of details and instructions for specific mods have already been posted in the following pages. Still, feel free to ask specific questions :-)
Ah, I remember I tried to follow that tutorial, but I couldn't get it to work either. The powers seem to be pretty hard-coded, with little room for modding :-(
If the advice I linked to above doesn't work as well (maybe that tutorial was written before the patches changed something) it is probably easier to add the weapons you miss to the class of which you like the powers best. See http://social.biowar.../index/889432/1 in the "Modding - Loadouts - " section.
I recently bought a new computer and transferred the ME2 Coalesced Editor to it. Tried running editor program today and was unable to do anything because access to "coalesced.ini" was denied. I looked around and found out that the Mass Effect 2 folder is set to read only. Tried to set folder with write access and it went back to read only. What can I do to fix this? Any help appreciated
Editor says "Access to the path 'C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Mass Effect 2\\BioGame\\Config\\PC\\Cooked\\Coalesced.ini.ME2CERestore' is denied.". I looked for file and can't find it... Any help with this problem appreciated
Disable UAC or run it as admin. Also, some AV/Firewall packages that contain application protection measures will also make the target directory read only if the running executable is not digitally signed by a trusted source.
I like to use heavy pistols but the good ones have a slow rate of fire so I made them fire faster but now the zoom thing moves alot when I shot 8like if I were using a SMG) so I wondered if there was a way to stop your guns from moving when you shot
