Finished this crazy scene tonite, and thought that it was the end of the game for a while. I mean it was pretty intense.
But the after math of this battle leaves a lot to be desired for me anyway.
Maybe it was too soon to this planet (but I felt compelled) as I have only done three before this one and All the Citadel quests.
What got me was the Council's plain belligerence that the reaper sovereign was not proven when so many witnesses to the event.,It's just not credulous that they take this stance. Very story driven,
Does anyone think the human ambassador is working for Saren?
Now I am faced with the tedium of doing the rest of the planets before I head off to Ilos..which will be quite anticlimactc.

Those witnesses saw a gigantic ship, which the Council never denied. They only denied it could be sapient. I.e. a Reaper.

Exactly.

To be fair, only 3 people (Shepard and whichever two people were with you at the time) actually spoke with Sovereign...

and even then, the Council can put the witness statements down to Sovereign being a particularly advanced VI created by Saren to fool the Geth, and Shepherd

consider the Council as being ruled by the Murphy's law of stupidity. whatever can be ignored, will be ignored

Yeah, I know only 3 saw the Sovereign interface and am not making a big deal out of it, just surprised at the Council reaction later and I was forced (really wanted to) to choose that option about the 'earth saying ....something like "shove it up your..........". still laughing at that even if it cost me paragon points.

The scene with the despondent Shepherd being offered Liara's hand and that first kiss being interrupted by Joker was cruel, funny but cruel.

I think I did make a mistake going to Virmire before I completed a goodly number of aother assignments cause now I canot return to complete at least one quest that gets rare license.

Try playing again, but get Liara AFTER doing Virmire. Very fun stuff.

Umm, I was getting the distinct impression that I did Virmire far too soon. It's a major battle sequence, I actually thought ti was the end! And by going to Virmire before some missions are completed you can't finish them as you cannot return to Citadel. So is it too much of a spoiler to say why you suggest this and if it is just email me direct, ok Karstedt.
I am really enjoying this game ,but so far with three aborted playthru's, Just after Virmire is as far as I have gone, and I have with some chars completed most assignments though I have not search every place (planet ) everywhere
It is very hard to keep track of where you have gone and my memory gets addled with a lot of sameness and there is a lot of hidden stuff that only shows up when you get close. Very sneaky of 'em, Can't be plot critical I do not know what.

 I am actually restarting as an Adept , I want to see how I go with singularity, and I think only adept can do this , maybe engineer but sure, Anyway I amm only just off to get the evidence to prove Saren guilt.

Citadel will only become 'locked' once you complete all four quest hub worlds, doesn't matter on the order (except that Virmie is not unlocked until you complete at least two of the other three)

But but I stole the Normandy and assumed I could not return, going to use the abandoned colony of Zhu's Hope as a base to hide and bring up my offspring with Liara! Perchance to dream.
