Hiya, sorry, not sure where to post this, I'm about to purchase this but I don't want to spend $49 on it without making sure it looks/plays as good/smoothly as possible.

my system is:
Intel C2D E7300 (2.6GHz base) OCed at 3.0GHz
4GB DDR2
XFX 9600GSO GDDR2 768MB (this is what i'm concerned about mainly)

any ideas if i can max it and have it run smoothly most of the way?
Thanks in adv:)

The 9600 GSO is well below the performance of the Recommended 8800 cards, so no, you can't "Max" the game without choosing a lower resolution.  You can compare your card's performance against the 8800GTS (there are three different ones, and Bioware wasn't specific!) by visiting Toms Hardware, and looking up the VGA Charts, then, choose the Fallout 3 benches as being about as close to DA:O's demands as anything else you can choose from.

ahh k, thank you, so will I be able to  max it at 1280x1024/960 with no AA? My home monitor isn't that big and that's about the max I could handle anyway =)

Because most developers do want to leave some leeway, their Medium and recommended settings are at least one notch higher than the most common LCD resolution, which you and I both share (mine is a 19", also nothing huge).  If you do run into a few hitches or slowdowns that are bothersome, 1152 by 864 is still a very sharp setting (or whatever the wide screen equivalent pixel count amounts to for those readers here who have already gone that route).
