Are we to assume he died? Don't get me wrong Donnelly (Scotty) and Daniels are great, but did anyone find any hint of what might have happened to Adams?

Well if I recall correctly you'll find his datapad on the Normandy Crash site its likely he died there (put the memorial there just for that)
but I think what would have been great is if you had found out he actually had survive the crash and had spent the last two years alone on that planet

Again, I felt BioWare really screwed up and missed an awesome opportunity with that site. It was DLC if I recall, correct? Once again, it was free DLC, so they just tacked it on without much thought. Disappointing, really. Wish some people had survived.

No, that is XO Pressly (the navigator)'s datapad and his flashback. Adams was the guy Pressly was arguing with cia the comm when you first met him. Pressly is who was in charge of the old Normandy when you were off it. Adams is the engineer that was down by the core were Tali hung out - she would miss him regardless of whether or not he was dead because he wasn't there to hang out with. But since Joker said most everyone survived and I didn't dind his dogtag among the 20 I collected i think he is alive somewhere serving on another Alliance ship.
