I think the story of Mass Effect does well at leading towards our own future. The next step humans will take is to mix organics with machines. Mechanical organs to sustain longer life. It'll happen, one day or another.

I see this argument every where i go on the internet. Sigh...must not get involved in this poo-slinging competition lol.

As a practicing Christian, i thought that Bioware handled religion very well in Mass Effect and in Dragon Age. It was done in a respectful tone and you had a chance to agree with it or disagree with it. They also were very creative during the creation of the alien religions, Samara's extremist views were especially colorful and the Hanar's Enkindlers was an interesting take on an out-sider's religion.

How convenient. I suppose you also conveniently had three of the most reliable people in your town as witnesses to this event?

Every single paranormal experience I have ever had has had no other witnesses. Or should I say "perceived paranormal experiences". I'd say it's convenient that anything that contradicts your view can't possibly have any metaphysical origins.

Yeah? What happens when a disembodied voice tells you where to find a dead body that you have no connection with him or his family?

This has happened to you then? Again, just hearing that this has happened to someone does not make it a fact. Data, produce some data! I can make a hundred miraculous claims within an hour with just as much truth behind them as yours.

Nope, didn't happen to me. Did you ever check out the show Unsolved Mysteries with Robert Stack?

I don't think that's fair, he was just proposing one possibility for how you could have been mistaken. Probably not the best idea, as there are hundreds of factors involved in any anecdote and trying to find the point of error, assuming there is one, is all but impossible, but what he posed was one possibility.

I was talking in general.

I didn't say "can't possibly have". I said that no-one has ever been able to produce a shred of evidence. I'm perfectly willing to change my opinion if someone succeeds in giving some proof about the "supernatural". Ofcourse at that point it would cease to be supernatural, and become just another natural phenomenon to study. That's why the very concept of supernatural is oxymoronic - if it exists, it's natural, if it doesn't, it's imaginary.

People who make money with unverified claims? Hmm...

I highly doubt any opinions will change from these arguments, so why bother? Let's all just flip our ignore switches and continue the game discussion, please.

How can you make a game with soo many different types of people and cultures and ignore religion? I think Bioware did an excellent job with this. One of my favorite conversations was the one with Thane about his religion. I guess in some ways you can sort of look at it as reflection of our past and future.

I perosnally like how all the characters have their own belief systems whatever it may be and how each race has their own religons and philosophies, it makes the overall experience more interesting. The asari justicars and their code are especially interesting, I would defintely like to learn more about the history there.
