Yes we all know you hate the game JKoop

Where did I ever say I hated the game? I dislike the new direction in which BioWare has taken it and it's certainly not the sequel to Mass Effect that I was hoping for or expecting, but it's a decent enough game in it's own right.

The way the BioWare fanboys act though, you'd think every complaint against ME2 was completely without merit and we were all just complaining because we like the sound of our own voices. At no point have I (or really any of the other "whiners" I've seen on this forum) ever just said "this game blows" without offering up a reason why. Every complaint I've made and seen made about the game has been in regards to specific features that were either added or removed that some people happen to disagree with.

If some people happen to think everything is fine and ME2 is the greatest game ever made, then I'm happy for them. But to shrug off the legitimate complaints of a good sized chunk of the community as "Oh, they're just a bunch of whiners" or as if something is just wrong with them is more than a little insulting. After all, it was people whining about ME1 that got things changed in the first place. What works for the goose, works for the gander. Turn about is fair play.

your complaints may have some merit, but repeat it enough and people are going to want to throw you out the window. ok we get it you stat cruching inventory loving "RPG purists" want the game to have ****ty combat.

also about the inventory did you ever even think of buying anything other then spectre gear??

i really liked the first game, but i love the second.

THANK YOU POSTER THANK YOU BIOWARE THANKYOU EVERYONE who bought this game! Proves that not all of the gaming community are brain dead idiots who dive onto games like COD! Seriously though I think it's ridiculous how anyone could say that this game is below amazing it frustrates me so much that this game dosent get the respect it deserves

acctually from critics it is with a metascore of 96 i beleive. with i think 40 perfects? in the metascores it is the 3rd highest ranked game. yes reviews do not mean everything, but to get that many good reviews it clearly is a very good game.

if you look closly the people complaining are really just a few people, posting over...and over.... and over... and over............and......over.......................................and over. ok i think i made my point.

I'm a role-player, not a min/maxer. I used Spectre gear on my Shepard because... well, because he/she was a Spectre, but I used Haliat Armory or Ariake Technologies equipment for most of my squadmates. And I never used Colossus armor (the "best" armor). Couldn't stand the look of it. I used Scorpion on my Shepard for the most part, with Onyx on Tali, Phantom on Garrus, Guardian on Kaidan , Predator on Ashley and Gladiator on Liara.

I knew a guy once...

He said that the woman he proposed to was the best thing in life, that he was going to spend the rest of his life with her and that everything was going to be perfect.

Two years later he was divorced...

Never say never...

Never say best thing ever... especially with the period at the end...

Which is a fancy way of saying it's nothing at all like ME1... which is ultimately why the people who liked ME1 are complaining.
Euh? Sorry but I REALLY like ME1 and I totally share his opinion.
JKoopman wrote...
Personally, I find the new equipment system to be 1000 times better than the one in ME1. No more pointless and ridiculous overdrops. No more 150 item limit.
Really? I played through ME1 no less than 6 times and at no point did I ever reach the inventory limit. I simply visited the Normandy Requisition Officer between each mission (which conveniently also gave me an opportunity to speak with my crew below deck) and sold off any unneeded equipment. This had the bonus effect of meaning that I was never short on credits either.
I played more times and sice I didn't even bother buying items in the end because they were all the same and really didn't affect gameplay enough, I was constantly changing them in omnigel or selling them (in my first playthrougths). Yeah, it was more rpg, that doesn't mean it was particularly well done. Like Gene Simmons would say (I hate him btw), I was filthy rich. What was the money useful for? Nothing.
JKoopman wrote...
Money actually means something this time around.
How so? Because there are tons of needless credit sinks (ie: fuel, probes, fish, pets and other miscelaneous junk)?
What's the problem? You proved his point, if there are "needless" credit sinks, that means you have something to pay for, which lacked in ME1 even if you bought yourself new equipment as you would get an absurd ammount of weapons and bonuses you could sell for money along with quests.

Best game ever.

I can say that because, for me, it is the best game ever.

And luckily, it's a video game, not a woman. So I don't have to give it half my heart and property when ME3 comes out and I have a new "best game ever" (to the guy who likened my love for this video game to being married).

this is the first  video game in my life aside from mass effect one that really gets me absorbed into it.  A true masterpiece and i will be a mass effect fan for life.  Ive never actually fallen in love with a made up character before ME and that Character was Tali.  Now I love her even more (to an extent of course she is fake) in ME2.

Thanks bioware for this amazing game.  Hope to see more books and collectibles for the franchise.Posted Image

No, Mass Effect 2 is not the best game ever created nor is Dragon Age or any other. Why? Because "The Best" is a subjective terminology regulated to each individual person and upon the assumption we are all capable of individual thought, opinions will differ amongst the masses. This threads is nothing except one user's opinion and those possessing agreement or disagreement accordingly. Whilst entitled to your opinion, threads such as these spark hostility regardless whether or not they praise or condemn the game. Additionally you cannot expect constructive criticism on Bioware's forum; a forum dedicated to the Mass Effect fanbase. Furthermore to insinuate those who adore the game are simply playing it, thus not present to argue. I in turn could state those who dislike Mass Effect are playing other games and not present to lobby complaints. Essentially the statement is a wash.

Ultimately if you enjoy the game, I offer you my congratulations as being immersed in a game you treasure is a wonderful feeling. My favorite game shall likely eternally remain Lunar: SSSC, in spite of its age for the aforementioned reason. Of course I do heavily favor the Mass Effect series. All I say is be mindful because others may disagree does not mean they are incorrect.

yes it is an opinion, but this board needs more of these threads, and less of the crying going on around here.

This. Even if you're completely justified about an opinion, you can quickly undermine your position with incessant repetition of that opinion.

You dislike the game. You've made your point. Enough?

I'm pretty sure I'm in a comma right now, and this forum (and thus you) are a figment of my imgination. Because of such, I am in a sense your, god. As your god I demand you to acknoweldge DA:O and ME2 as the best games ever or be erased from existence.

I like most of you love the game as well. I'm excited that I get to continue the story of my Shepard. The game definitely had its pros and cons. Some things I wish for them to add/change for ME3 is the level design. A lot of the levels in ME2 are very linear. I feel constricted to a path unlike in ME1. Another thing I want them to change/add is the ability to equip your squad mates and customize their armors. One last thing is I would like the stats of the armor/weapons to be displayed graphically rather than in text.

Those are the only issues I have with the game so far. Everything else, the presentation, combat, story, dialogue is superb.

There's no way Mass effect 2 can be the best game ever or best rpg, despite some overwhelmed fanboy going crazy right now.

Why? Because Mass effect 3 will and should be even better.I think Mass effect 3 will receive the Grand theft IV and MGS 4 treatment ,so I expect numerous perfect score.
That being said,Mass effect 2 is definitively a top 5 game for me personally. :o This is what I wanted from a sci-fi rpg and Bioware is able to pull it off in glorious fashion.

What's really important for Bioware is to realize how talented they are and what they can accomplish if they focus on being the best rpg maker on the planet.

Dragon age is very good, but it can be so much more than what it is currently (just like the first Mass effect).Hopefully, the next Dragon age is a fantasy masterpiece on par with ME 2 (creating masterpiece is insanely hard,I know :P).
