I felt bad about leaving Liara for her, but there is no way I could resist. One of the best written characters by far. Everything was awesome. The loyalty mission, the romance. As probably a billion others have said, the only thing I wish is that we got to see her without the suit/helmet.

I am with you there.  I was messing with Miranda and then I found out that Tali was an option, one that I wanted so bad in ME1, and it changed everything.  I love how deep her character is.  I stopped our convo when I saw where it was going with I cant but I would like to and the next time I spoke with her she took me to the side and told me how much she wanted to be with me but that she was not going to share me with another.  It blew me away that she knew about me and Miranda.  She went on to tell me that no matter who I picked to do the right thing because it is a small ship and word gets around.  Basically do try to play me and use us both.  Man she is cool!  You cant help but fall in love with her character after dealing with her deep story lines and talking to her.  She reminds me of how my wife was when we first meet in high school.  She was scared and slipped up a lot in her speech.  Great job Bio Ware!  Tali for the win!

Perfect? No. Nothing is perfect, at least in this sense.

Extremely well written? Without a doubt.

In Mass Effect 1 I found the Quarians more interesting than Tali herself. Don't get me wrong, Tali was a nice character who I enjoyed having in my squad but the intrigues of her people overshadowed her character, at least in my opinion.

Fast forward to Mass Effect 2 and she has clearly matured although she remains the same old Tali. Only her and Garrus have truly remained loyal (Joker, Anderson, and Dr. Chakwas, too) to the very end; Ashley's reaction to me showing up out of the blue was handled very well - it fits her character on how angry she got.

Her reaction made me personally upset even though I knew it was at least partially justified. I had planned on staying loyal to her - at least on my first playthrough - but then Kelly mentioned that Tali was interested. After speaking with Tali, her loyalty to me hit home again. Speaking from a narrative point, we already have a lot of history.

Then came her loyalty mission which was my favorite one of the bunch - finally seeing the Quarian Migrant Fleet I had been hoping to visit since the first game. Comforting Tali when she discovered her dead father was very powerful and wonderfully written.

The rest is pretty straightfoward. Tali, to me, seemed the most "genine" of my squadmates, like a real person with flaws, strengths, etc. I was never in "Tali camp" but I have to give high praise to whoever was responsible for writing her and all the things Tali-related.

I look forward to where things go in Mass Effect 3 ... hopefully if there's a confrontation with Ashley I will be allowed the right options to explain things. I didn't feel as if I got to tell Ashley what was going on my head when I got reunited with her at the colony.

Yeah, I loved Tali (in a platonic, SISTERLY way). She's grown up, and man, that scene with her father's body...it was touching and emotional during the loyalty quest. Heck, I loved all the characters so much I couldn't consistently pick two people I wanted with me at all times - wanted to spend time with each of them. However, as I've said before, I did kind of end up sticking with Thane a lot after the romance (for a former assassin, he's quite sensitive and intelligent - heh, quoting Earth philosphers too). Hmm, I didn't already write this in here did I? Hard to keep threads straight when I've been up to 3AM most nights playing the game. Thankfully, now that I've been through the suicide mission I can relax and go through it with more normal hours. *chuckle*

Certainly helps that Liz Sroka sure can do some solid VO for a relative "unknown" :D

She is truly a very talented voice actress.  Her voice carries such emotion and conviction when she is speaking to or about Shepard.  The part of Tali'Zorah is certainly well written, but her delivery totally sells it.

Tali is perfect? I dunno, I never liked her at all. Chicken legs and mask over her face do not help her case for my Shepards LI.

Bioware, more then anyone else in the industry, realizes the importance of voice acting in games.

I choose tali since she is a interesting character and has a cute voice and a shy-cute like personalization, plus her loyalty mission was emotional and very interesting

My Cousin went for miranda

and my brother for subject zero

but then they both wanted tali too lol

I have a question. If you recruit Legion will only paragon work to regain Tali's loyalty?

Bingo to all of this her delivery is amazing.  I'm definitely a fan for life.

can you do this with Miranda? I was only given the response before the
love scene and the suicide mission. Didn't see a way to invite her up
to the cabin after the suicide mission.

You don't lose points with Tali for recruiting Legion.  Though, during their confontation in the AI room, a paragon response will keep both of them loyal to you, and possibly set something up for future peace between the two.

I've seen someone respond with the renegade option, in a nutshell you basically shout a "what the hell are you two thinking?! Quit being idiots" and the result is more or less the same.

Alright thanks the ME wiki said that you lose tali's loyalty if you recruit Legion but you could get it back using paragon. The ability to use renegade pleases me greatly.

Chitika vas Paws, I believe. It's a reference to the gnome god Baervan Wildwanderer's pet badger Chitika Fastpaws.

She also references Minsc and Boo from Baldur's Gate, ordering Chitika to "go for the optics."

Just all the more reason Tali is one of the best squaddies.

My Shep has saved the galaxy twice and all he wants is some more time with Tali and a happy ending. The man saved everyone, he at least deserves a happy ending.

I want to see the old LIs back as squadmates along with Tali and Garrus. There should be a reward for staying loyal and/or a potential cat/dog fight if you cheated in the 3rd lol. That would be awesome.

Yeah just did the Tali's loyalty mission yesterday. I played through a Femshep and everyone is correct the scene where she is finds her father's body and you have the paragon interrupt is very moving made me a little misty. Got to give Liz Sroka props for her incredible voice acting in that scene. You just hear her voice and are not able to see Tali's facial expressions, but Liz Sroka does an excellent job of conveying the pain and loss that Tali is feeling at that moment you can hear Tali's heart breaking.  Heck Liz Sroka acting is great all the way through the game.

Also Tali's reaction to after the trial is perfect especially after Shepard makes the comment well "We still have time we can go get you exiled if you want?"" The little laugh Tali did was excellent. Liz also did and excellent job of showing how much Tali cares for Shepard and how important she/he is to her.

Yeah so definitely agree Tali is one of the best written and voice acted characters in ME2. Heck personally think the ME2 Tali is one of the best written and voice character for any game I have played recently. Also agee with a couple of others think they really improved Liara as well but this is a Tali topic. Hope she is a major player in ME3.

how high of a paragon level do you need to have before you can get Tali acquitted, anyway? my paragon bar is usually almost half full by the time I go see the Admiralty board, but the conversation options to get Tali acquitted are always grayed out.

I think my Pargaon was at about 75-80 percent only had one section left to fill in. My renegade was about 55-70% but I also had my class skill evolved to give me  a boost to my Pargaon\\Renegade points which according to the game give you the ability to make the tough critical choices and having that gave me both options for her trial.

Another I liked about Tali in ME2 was how sure of herself she was, sure she was pretty confident in the first game but in this one she was even more confident especially when standing up to the admiralty and leading her own team.

NOT ACCEPTABLE. DO IT AGAIN.

That's like letting Kelly die once you know how to prevent it.

*ums...*

I'm not actually sure which is worse...
