The only time the Paragon option wasn't available to me was with Morinth. Good thing Samara came in.

Your game may be bugged like mine and not allow you to pick the option no matter what.
It's frustrating really.

Is that true, every time i feel rushed in a game i can wait a year and the same stuff happens. Oh btw on the Jack/Miranda arguement I didnt get the option to end immeditly (I sided with Miranda) and I raised my Paragon so I can get the paragon option, on my screen it looks full but i still dont get the option.Just_mike wrote...
It starts a timer. When that timer expires, your crew gets kidnapped. After that, the longer you screw around, the worse the ending will be.

Have you tried respeccing Shepard for the +100% Paragon/Renegade option? This same thing happened to me, and I couldn't select the persudae option either during the fight nor afterward, despite having nearly a full Paragon bar. After respeccing, I could at least select the persuade option to calm Miranda back down and regain loyalty.
Oddly, I had no problems calming Tali down during her confrontation with the last party member. I don't understand why I need so many more points for Miranda...aside from the fact that she was being a huge ****.

This has to be a glitch. I've been able to break up the fight on my first three playthroughs, but on my fourth with 75% paragon (I have broken up the fight with less than 75% before) I can't choose either of the options. It's really annoying because I don't like taking sides in that arguement because I feel like a jerk. BioWare needs to fix this along with how Conrad Verner thinks every Shepard stuck a gun in his face, even if you didn't in ME1.

I've heard that difficulty setting can make the Jack/Miranda & Tali/Legion fights much harder to resolve.

That's a possiblity. The one time I didn't get the option to break up the fight was on my insanity playthrough.

Bah... keep it simple stupid works best, always
Ah, ha! Yes, that makes sense. Somewhat irritating to just throw us that curve ball though.
To recap for those not wanting to watch the video aeeto21 linked above.
1. Not a bug.
2. Difficulty setting as no effect.
3. Paragon/Renegade requirements increase as you complete missions.
4. At endgame, Miranda/Jack require at lot more Paragon/Renegade than mid/early game.
5. Tali/Legion require a lot but less than Miranda/Jack at endgame.
The moral of the story is do those Companion Quests early!

OK I just had "The Fight" last night on Hardcore difficulty and I was not 100% renegade but I had the renegade option to make them stop fighting and keep them both loyal. I wonder why certain people don't get the options.
If it is because it gets harder the longer you go then you want to do complete both Jack and Miranda's loyalty early, I believe that is what triggers the fight. I got the fight as soon as I completed Miranda's loyalty. They were my 3rd and 4th loyalty missions completed (The first being Zaeed and the second was Jacob)

I so want to shoot Jack out an airlock. But she is a useful squad member.
